So basically iv’e gotten a tiny bit bored with my warrior lately after 5 months or so, and am planning to create a ranger. Just want a quick bit of clarification if they have improved much PvE wise post patch since i focus on dungeons mostly? Thanks

I also had a warrior I got bored of (I didn’t even get exotics on him even though he was 80) and created a ranger. One of the best choices I’ve ever made. The ranger is much more FUN imo, which is what really matters to me.

PvE dungeons wise, rangers are definitely viable. They will not (I repeat WILL NOT) do as much direct damage as your warrior. If you make a ranger looking for high direct damage, make a thief. What rangers CAN do VERY well is surviving and condition damage. This is because their pets do not scale off of the ranger’s stats. This is bad for beserker builds, but is great for tanky healing power builds.

We have access to bleeds, poison, burning, and even confusion (on the reef drake). We also have TONS of evades spread across the GS, sword, dagger, and lightning reflexes.

Tl;dr Rangers are not made to do tons of direct damage. Rangers are made to survive and to consistent damage while supporting their party with many different combo fields.

^That is a perfect example of what the Ranger class excels at atm.
