We have an entire trait line that should be dedicated to hit and run high mobility attacks, thats what a skirmisher is, hit and runs. Why then do we have less mobility than all but like 2 classes in the game. We should arguably have the most or close to only passed by things like thieves. Warriors get across the map in 2 seconds, elementalists get around faster, guards get around about as fast as warriors, mesmers have all the ports and swiftness etc. It’s ridiculous that we have an entire trait line that should be about moving around quickly, getting in a fight and getting out quick. Woohoo we get swiftness on weapon swaps from it. That is literally it.
Hotkey about face and you can get around the map pretty darn fast with GS + Sw/X with Martial Mastery. Maybe faster than Warrior, but I’m not sure without doing the math. There are a few videos out there of people chasing rangers all over the map and not being able to catch ’em.
And while the wiki description of the traitline states that it “focuses on mobility, traps and switching weapons in combat.” It’s more just about weapon swapping, positioning, and close/mid range fighting.

I just learned about this hotkey over the weekend. What a great change! I was trying to rotate the camera/body position, but most of the time I was leaping sideways. This way I know I’m making a good 180 degreee turn.
The automatic traits (forget what they’re called) in the skirmishing line a really good in my opinion. Swiftness, fury on weapon swap in addition to 10% damage while flanking are all very good. However, many of the other traits are lackluster. The only ones I see as being useful are the trap ones, QuickDraw, and the one which gives you vigor when critically hit. Moment of Clarity can be good if running Gs/sb, but overall I think it needs something more
