Reiteration of what improvements the Ranger needs... ASAP
So what you are saying is everything needs to be re-done :P
Not that I disagree. There are a lot of things I would like to see changed.

Yes i’m a main 80 Ranger, and love the idea behind my ranger, yes the Ranger needs tweaking LIKE every other class in this game, no we are not broken.
All these extravagant qq threads are getting old, this is not a holy trinity of an mmo, once people get this through their thick heads, the better and the more you will enjoy your class and game.
I’m not saying I don’t enjoy the ranger or the game, but I can understand where the OP is coming from. I agree that weapons such as the Longbow deserves to be looked at. To me the auto attack feels very weak to other comparable weapons . Then, there are things such as the sword auto-attack rooting issue which needs to be looked at. Beyond that, to me, the great-sword damage feels slightly sub-par. Most likely do to some of the massive nerfs it took in the betas. Increasing the damage slightly I think would help.
There is also the issue of spirits. Their health is insanely low along with their range. In addition, they need to be specced in order to move and trigger more often. Compared to things such as warrior banners, they are not very viable in my eyes.
Furthermore, pets, the defining feature of a ranger, do not function very well in their current state. Lack of f2 responsiveness, pets not being able to hit moving targets, and pets not being able to f2 target after being swapped are just of few of the issues.
There are also many traits which I feel need to be looked at. Evasive Purity is one trait that comes to mind. It used to remove all conditions, which may it very strong, but now it only removes poison and blind. If it were somewhere in the middle I could possibly see myself using it.
Thus, while not necessarily broken, the ranger class has problems. Simply labely threads such as this as qq does not do these threads justice. These threads do serve a purpose; they allow players to express their concerns with the class and state which areas they believed need to be looked at.

I did not mention anywhere it is not broken, now before you start ‘deeming’ things as non constructive, take a look at what constructive means. Now I did mention things need to be re-imagined yes, because under the current circumstances Rangers are VERY limited in builds available with regards to PVP and competitive play due to the reasons listed above. You obviously do not PvP enough to understand the ‘so many’ gaps we currently have.
Now although I did mention traits and weaponry skills need to be ‘re-imagined’ but this is a pervasive issue with the exception of thieves and probably engineers and warriors. There is no synergy between them. However it is very obvious with the play of the ranger as you will soon realize that nature magic is not useful besides the first 10 points.
So before you go deeming things as ‘nonconstructive’ I suggest YOU take a step back and provide an UNBIASED comment
as far as utilities go healing spring is one of the very few water fields in the game making it in my opinion the best choice for heal. “protect me” is amzing and with a tough pet can save your life and eliminate the threat of one trick pony builds. signet of renewal, yes your pet has to be near you for it to work, but its passive ability is fine and can mitigate most condition builds quite nicely with the exception of necros when they throw 4-8 conditions on you at once. and quickenin zephyr is well its just amazing as one of the 4 and a half classes that have an on demand quickness (1/2 being mesmer its got an insane cd but duration is awesome and aoe!) saying that all of our utilities suck well im not sure what to say. lightning reflexes is another one that is awesome its a damaging dodge roll on a short cd i would use it if i didnt like the other 3 better.
SPIRITS NEED WORK.
signets should automatically apply there benefit to the ranger without traiting for it except signet of renewal that would suck to pull everyones conditions and have no other way to remove more than 1 or 2 with healing spring LOL.
the weapons i think are fine in there intent, the damage is underwhelming however, and the pet does not make up the difference ( pets really should be able to attack on the move just like everything else in the game) honestly pet damage is good if the target is stationary. too bad nothing is stationary outside of pve mobs.
i also agree that f2 abilities should be the most reactive and instant cast ability a pet has. since it is the one ability that i as a player can control it should be just as responsive as any other ability i have.
as far as traits go the the upper traits in beast master need to be combined to one trait and something else added. they are garbage, at least until my pet can cast on the move. the rest of traits are fine imho they are build specific so not all of them apply to my play style. oh i forgot about sprits traits. there are 4 different spirit traits in the spirit line but i can only choose 3. 2 are mandatory imo. spirits that dont follow you are wasted cooldowns and spirits that are weak already, have to have higher hp pools. so i have to make a choice honestly combine the last 2 and be done with it so i can build for my spirits or not. not sacrifice one spirit trait for another. heck you can move the 4th one to a different trait line if you want but at least let me make the choice between spirit or non spirit traits.
Ranger needs work. but i dont agree with everything you said, there are very specific things that need tweaks the whole class does not need to be re-imagined.
