Not only do you get Boon Duration and Condition Duration, both fairly useful, even though the other stats are minor that you get…That 25% speed buff allows you to drop Signet of the Hunt in favor of either Signet of Renewel or Signet of Stone, which gives the toughness to your pet as well… Making it give more stats over all with that combination that you would get otherwise.

Of course its also good for Trap Ranger and Spirit Ranger as well, anything that has 3 slots basically used with abilities.

Or you can use a stun breaker instead with a spirit or trap build in WvW.

Superior Rune of Speed is also incredibly good and much cheaper…

You get a metric ton of Vitality which is usually pretty low cause of lack of Vit from Apothecary.

Superior Rune of Speed does not work from what I can tell.

Yeah, I saw the stats on the new Rune of the Traveler and immediately bought a set of 6 before the price skyrocketed. Being able to just replace Signet of the Hunt with an above-average rune set is like getting a 4th utility skill slot in WvW. Now I just have to decide which of my armor sets to put them in. Maybe it’s time for just a full celestial set?

It’s so nice that they even have 10% condition duration, so now you can hit the +50% with a koi cake for an extra tick on most conditions without having to put 10 points in Marksmanship.

I need to start correctly predicting what to buy before patches hit.

My only attempt at it was to pick up a bunch of candy corn….yeah…

I’d love to know it too. But if I had to guess, I’d say no. On the other hand I use LB, so if I wanted I can keep perma swiftness on pet ^^
Still, waiting for someone to test it.

I use Undead runes as extra 258 Condition Damage allows me to go lighter on CD on some of my gear and allows me to hit all my 1500 plateaus, but, the lack of a bonus effect is a downside, even if the overall stat bonuses are better. I do run with SotH so the 25% and freeing up that slot would probably be worth the stat loss…

Has anyone tested whether this works in combat as well?

Doesn’t give speed buff to pet far as I can tell, but then again I tend to use Spiders now so probably not noticeable.

But yea, I wish I could try it out more with BM bunker but Speed Runes are bugged currently, when they fix them i’ll give a more accurate idea of how well it should do.

I’m liking the Traveler ones on my rabid set, as I can run Trap Build or Spirit Build with that setup and maintain speed

Probably is intentional. They continue to push to sPvP to be an esport, and for they they need a level of stability and complete balance which they wont get it they just keep throwing new stuff at it.

Like perplexity runes.. cant get those there, and if you could it would completely change things.

So I’ve been using spiders as well, but I didn’t trait BM coz spiders aren’t really worth traiting into; they don’t die often and theyre more of a CC/condition cover up pet. The traveler runes are quite nice with 30/0/30/10/0 settler gear + shaman trinkets. sword+dagger/axe+torch

I’m sitting at ~1000 condition dmg, ~2250 attack, ~800healing power, ~21000hp, ~3100armor. 25% boon duration, 40% condition duration.

Using active signets for emergency invulnerability, stability and condition wipes. And with all those evades, I can last quite a while in wvw 8D

I was actually thinking of using a build like this (same trait setup with shamans amulet, so less hp) in PvP as a new “meta” build instead of spirits, and just sitting on point and being the ultimate point holder. Stability to stay on point and make engis waste cooldowns, invulnerability to facetank and burst, and SoR for a full clear on top of empathic bond, while just regening health the whole time and burn/bleed/poisoning them.

The only class that has enough condi removal that would actually be able to get you off a point is a guardian, and even then it would take awhile.

WvW also, but I’m more focused on my other classes lately, speaking of which:

@Traveler runes; these are going to be a must for my mesmer. I’ve heard a few people wanting them on thief too. I think in general, in class that doesn’t have access to constant swiftness or wants another utility slot option is going to go for these, and they’re probably going to be one of the most expensive rune sets in the game.

Im still not sure whether traited SoR have any additional benefits though =/

Don’t quote me on this, because I haven’t tested it at all so I’m not even sure whether it’s true, but I heard that SoR makes the conditions kind of just disappear, so the pet doesn’t even take damage. It isn’t something I’ve tested though, I just heard it from other players, so I wouldn’t be sure that’s true.

SoR’s passive removes a condi from you and your pet that disappears. SoR’s active transfers all condis from allies within 600ish range of your pet to your pet. SoR’s active while traited does the same thing but also transfers all condis from allies within 600ish range from yourself to your pet as well.

I hate the fact we have to trait our signets in the first place just to make them equal to every class.

I know for certain that the +25% movement speed for pvp is broken. Funny how the pve varient apparently doesn’t work as well with the +25% movement speed buff.

I can say that pve runes of the traveller’s displayed affects all work.

All in all, it makes you wonder when runes of the traveller or any other pve only rune/ sigil will make it over to pvp.
