Any thoughts on whether or not the (4) proc on Superior Rune of the Pack will trigger Windborne Notes? The animation is the same, the boons are the same, but the duration and recharge is different.

We’ll have to wait and see …

The only way I think you could possibly test this was if you somehow set it up so that as soon as someone proc’d it they had two nearby ranger teammates blow their horns. If the mist wolf was summoned, then we’d have our answer. If it wasn’t … then probably not.

For those that don’t know what mist wolf I’m talking about … get 3 Rangers together with their horns and all cast Call of the Wild at the same time. On top of a wonderful about of Swiftness and Fury (some Might, but doesn’t stack in duration) you also get a Mist Wolf that just follows around like a mini pet except that it can be damaged.

A.net did mention they want better synegie from runes with skills and traints, so I think that after patch it will function the same as horn 5 with effects, CD , trait synegie and everything.

Depends on how the game is coded.
If the rune just cast might + fury + swiftness then it won’t trigger.
If the rune call the Call of the Wild cast function then it will trigger.

I’ll assume that it will be the 1st case since the CD is different and make Call of the Wild behave differently only if it is being cast by the rune doesn’t sound like a good way to code the skill.

Nice idea Sebrent, that shouldn’t be too hard to test actually.

Really hoping it does synergise with WN, that would be so great with Beastmaster’s Bond and CoTW.

Awesome. If you do test, please record it. I’d be very interested as I agree that it’d be amazing.

Shouldn’t a rune proccing Call of the Wild, as in the actual skill and not only mirroring its effect, do a blast finisher aswell? Or get its recharge reduced by off-hand training? Because rune of the pack doesn’t do that.

In that case we already know the answer. BTW, does cantrip traits proc on rune of vampirism?

I’m absolutely sure it’s noted in the log as “call of the wild” but I don’t think it’s counted as the same spell as our own warhorn skill, gonna try the mist wolf test as someone mentioned.

I was wrong, it’s not noted as all in the log, couldn’t manage to summon any wolves with it after repeated testing and it doesn’t make any blast finishers either so unless this changes I assume it will not trigger windborne notes either.

Oh well, it was a nice thought to have and hopefully some newer rangers at least learned about the mist wolf when they skimmed this topic.

Maybe we’ll test it again after the specializations go in. Who knows what will change in the code by then.

Awww, what a shame. That could have been amazing synergy for us! Still, it’s a nice rune set anyway.
