Is it worth it to take any other rune against this ones? I find the stealth effect really useful in WvW where if you are with more players around make really difficult the enemies to keep focusing on you.

Every time you use a trap they lose their target and go for the next so you can shake off the pressure.
So because the runes of the trappers allows you to somehow reset the fight.. Is it really worth to take any other rune?

Due to the recent nerf / adjustment they are really not worth it. Yes, it was only the removal of 1 second but it is a 33% reduction in stealth bottom line. So depending on how you use them and how many traps you ran, it is a big deal.

This is coming from someone who has used them since they became available on the Ranger. They are perfect in solo or HAVOC group WvW fights, er, or used to be. Mixed in with LB, axe, and torch I found them to be borderline over powered but could still be countered by above average players regardless of the class you are fighting.

Main – Laaz Rocket – Guardian (Ehmry Bay)
Johnny Johnny – Ranger (Ehmry Bay)
Hárvey Wallbanger – Alt Warrior (Ehmry Bay)

Yeah, the thing is if is 1v1 the runes gives you little to nothing advantage, the autotarget will choose you always. Some uses to reposition but with the nerf this has been really diminished.
But in a group even now it allow you to reset their target, you can avoid having constant pressure, because every time you stealth their autotarget choose another player.

Also traps are the most damaging utility skills we have, so i can’t think any reason why not to use it. And if you are using staff because of the unbelievable weak damage sigil of torment/earth are almost a must so you go condi.

Resuming, i can’t see why a druid should choose another runes/builds than a ranger trapper.

Even if you run Staff/LB instead Staff/Axe-torch still if you want damage you have to run traps ergo condi.

The only reason I can think of not to use it, is to prevent an issue I’ve had come up a few times recently, when fighting in a contested circle/ring. When you stealth, you no longer count as present in the circle, so if the enemy was in the process of capping, it will continue. If you’re not careful, even if you’re winning the fight, the camp will flip and you’ll suddenly find yourself surrounded by guards.

As an alternative, there is Superior Rune of the Krait , which is what I use in sPvP. When used with the short-cooldown Entangle and the other traps, I find this to be a reasonably effective option.

trap runes are still really good if youre running 3 traps and a ton of condi damage, like with Carrion.

Prior to HoT I ran trapper in WvW exclusively. Not played much WvW since then but when I did it was with 4 traps. Healing Spring, spike, fire, and vipers nest. I really had enough ways to reset or get out of dodge if things got messy. Entangle also.

Ruins in the borderlands, my camping grounds. Solo roaming, small group, they worked with my LB, axe, torch. Today after the removal of 1 seconds, 33% negative adjustment, not a huge fan. I’ll go back to full glass/berserk LB/something with travel runes. Or see if I can find a comfortable balanced celestial build.

I’m not finding the nerf too bad. Definitely an adjustment, but I had an especially good day yesterday – won a 1v2+full camp of NPCs and a 1v3 – I don’t think the nerf was necessary, but I can live with it.

Pre HoT 3 sec stealth & super speed, and it’s not about stealth, it’s more about super speed, which both got nerfed for 1 second. Why was trapper so good? Because you could get away fast, and you could get to unpredictable places with super speed while still be under effect of chill or cripple, and no one would expect of you to make that far of a distance. And that’s what made trapper runes strong, and not the stealth itself.

So the answer is no even though the difference is 1 second, because the runes were already on very low priority position. I wouldn’t recommend playing trapper as well, it’s nothing near good compared to the builds that we currently have available.

Wish I could get back to GW1.. PvP-GvG. It feels like we are outcasted, not desired or rewarded..
