SB 2 and Axe 2 Damage
They apply 5 stacks of conditions also. Most skills that do this have weak direct damage. A good example is a warrior’s flurry burst. The direct damage is really weak but if the warrior is traited with condition damage, it has a change to do really high damage.
And exactly that is bad design. If you run a power build you get punished twice. The power scaling is worse than your autoattack (unless hitting all 5) and the condition part doesn’t do a lot either because you aren’t specced for conditions.
This is in general a huge design flaw of this game where you have to invest into specific stats. They think a skill that deals condition damage shouldn’t have good power scaling and vice versa. This is wrong and limits builds. Already having to decide which stats you want to get makes this unneccesary.
Especially in the case of ranger weapons, several which have mixed attacks (like mainhand sword, axe, greatsword).
Conditions are too weak without power, and power based attacks are too weak if you have condition damage instead of it.
The pendulum shouldn’t swing so wildly with gear — conditions should be good baseline and so should power, and gear should enhance it modestly.
