SOAC Held what could only be called the first real shoutcasted tournament and it went amazingly well. Check out this post Game Thread for how it went! WE had a great time with an incredible setup. This Saturday will be for those who want to go again or if you didn’t get to go and want to go.

I think a lot of us are holding back on this, Bas. I know I am because I know how Necromancers work. Any condition I throw at them they can either throw right back at me or convert to boons. And considering pretty much every Ranger weapon has conditions on them…yeah, they’re our natural counter class.

So there are no Power builds or beastmaster rangers ;P. I think you are over thinking it. We will give everyone a chance to take on everyone. So you may lose to one profession, but dominate the others. We are probably going to have both running so guys don’t end up just standing around waiting. So while two teams are in the tournament fighting each other, the rest will be queueing for tournaments or settling on some fun setups

Such as 5 Rangers with Spirit pets face off against 5 Guardians with Spirit weapons, We will do a battle of the utility pets ;P.

I would be definitely willing to participate and give it a go.

You don’t know the class well do you?
No matter how they spec, ranger’s fill roughly 1~ role in TPvP and that’s stalling and small scale skirmishing… an utterly terrible class to make a team of.

It’d just be a game of necro zerging and ranger attempted backcapping.
Don’t see anything interesting in that.

Apparently you don’t play high end tournaments or watch any EU teams play. All the Rangers at the highend are BM bunkers it’s ridiculous. Trap rangers are easy to kill and counter. Bunker BM rangers are ridiculous right now.

You are correct. It’s me who is missing something, I mixed you and Ryu’s trap comments into one. I apologize. However as a counter I do believe ranger team last Time went with a unique setup. 1 Bunker BM, 1 Offensive BM, 2 Trap Rangers, and one Condition SB Ranger. They started off playing the way you said, and it went very poorly than they swapped up and filled different roles and did a great job.

As for the issue of Ranger disadvantage versus Necros, while it is true some builds (traps for example) are all about condition damage, and most Ranger weapons do have significant condition-damage components, there are some builds which do minimize this quite a bit. I will likely run a damage build (I have one that requires no changes to trait lines, only traits and gear) or my perma-boon build.

Haha, well, send me an email with your preordained schedule :P! I setup all these events 2-3 weeks ahead of time.

Okay so two big notes of news. We are asking people not to stream the events to help push people to the shoutcasters to give them a chance at practice. You can record it and put it up on youtube later.

Secondly we are going to be grabbing some of the top tournament guys to lend their name to the teams and coach (not play) the players, to talk strategy, specs, and general coaching.

A new post is coming soon that will state more as to why!

Signet of Spite, here comes bleed, blind, cripple, poison, vulnerability, and weakness your way.

Lich Form, here comes a ton of pain your way.

Consume Conditions, the conditions you gave them just healed them.

1) You completely misunderstand how wells work.

2). No one runs signet of spite it’s bad.

3) If someone uses that many long casts on you without an interrupt it’s a l2 kitten ue.

Awesome! If you can grab them all sometime today, so we can make sure they are all on the same team. You have my mumble info so you can use the mumble to communicate.

I saw the tweet. I would like to sign up but I live in Tokyo. If you need an extra ranger for the 11th, my 12th, let me know. I’ll try to watch on twitch eitherway. Go go power RANGERS! As long as the champs aren’t thieves or warriors ill be happy.
