Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
Shared Anguish Rework
Guild Leader of Favorable Winds [Wind]
This trait is extremely weak. I honestly don’t know how it made it this far in the game.
Compare Shared Anguish which transfers 1 incoming disable to your pet on a 60 second cooldown, to a warrior’s Last Stand, which gives them 2 stacks of pulsing stability for 8 seconds on a 40 second cooldown.
It could be something simple like: Break stun and gain attack of opportunity when hit with a disable. 20 second internal cooldown.
Other effects in place of gaining attack of opportunity could be:
- recharge pet swap
- reduce all of your active cooldowns by 2 seconds
- gain 3 stacks of stab for 5 seconds
Honestly, almost anything would be better than our current version of Shared Anguish. Please Anet, make something happen.

I like those ideas and could work out for core, druid or soulbeast in general.
I think Changing “Shared Anguish” should be changed to something like “Natures Calling- (Beast)” – Next disable effect you suffer, breaks stun. Granting you 3 seconds of stability (5 – stacks). (30 second Cooldown)
Like you said anything would work better as long it counters disabling skills.

I’ve always hated traits and skills that harm the pet.
Empathetic bond rework is better than the trait before it, but it still shouldn’t be reliant on the pet because we know that if it’s going to die, there’s nothing you can do unless you have a swap.
Signet of Renewal was a nice, but again it shouldn’t be based on the pet. Not only that, but the kitten skill won’t even work on you if your pet is out of range. That shouldn’t be. It should always take conditions from the ranger regardless of the range of his pet. But again, it shouldn’t even be giving conditions to your pet anyway. Why not just have the skill clear five condi’s from yourself and five allies?
Shared Anguish is in the same boat. Other classes usually have superior versions, but that is ok because of class differences. Warriors need to be able to be up close and brutal to be most effective. Their trait is suited and balanced for their purpose. Our trait needs to be worked, but certainly should not be as strong as the warrior version.
I really miss HiPS (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hide_in_Plain_Sight), it was such a great trait for getting out of bad situations especially when they changed it so you could move without breaking it, i was so disappointed when it was replaced by shared anguish ;(

Well just a stunbreak on petswap would be neat.

It was better back in the day when there wasn’t as much CC…at least I think.
I always liked it to be honest. It’s a pretty solid trait. Ignore 1 CC effect every 60 seconds is pretty useful. It’s like having an automatic stunbreak every 60 seconds and you won’t even feel the effect and it can’t interrupt you.
It’s also a bit like guardian and his aegis. Blocking that first hit can make a huge difference. Your opponent can’t even see the trait on the Ranger.
But a buff would always be welcome. For example, it gives you aegis for a few seconds.
It’s still the strongest WS master trait for power builds. It could use a bit of a rework to make it more competitive in condi builds, but I run it because the other two are useless for my power ranger.

I think working with the pet mechanically is great.
What about:
Ignore the next incoming CC, your pet inflicts that cc on its next attack to a foe. Gain Attack of opportunity. CD 40 secs

Poison is never useless, even if you have 0 condition damage.
Shared Anguish really should have a lower cd, since the effect is transferred to our pets, so incoming disables still affects us, just in a different way.
I feel like the obvious answer with the most recent balance patch is to have it cast “Lesser Protect Me” when you would be disabled. Ignore CC, next attack causes a pet taunt, can grant swiftness/regen if traited or even cure a condition with the right runes.
