Q:
Short Keen Edge question
I don’t it has an internal cd I think it goes off of going from above 75% to reaching 75%
So in essence if you manage your hp to hover around 75% you will continue to proc the trait

If you continously go above and below I think so yes, but it’s not something you really would be able to control in a real combat situation.
I tested. It has icd. I cant tell wats the icd since i didnt time it. But it triggers once the icd is over, as long as u r lesser than 75%.
For somthing like this its most likely around 10 seconds. Would love to test it but atm busy with moving house.

I don’t know Kensai, it seems from looking at the various traits like this amongst all the classes that its ICD could be anywhere from 10s to 30s.
Try your best to not make mistakes, but, when you do make mistakes, learn from them.
Better yourself.
Can only test it and find out. If its 30s irs absolute trash.

I half agree with you.

- The duration of the buff is 19 Seconds.
- It gives your next five attacks 7 seconds (with the 10% increase from Marksmanship) of bleed.
- You need to be hit while under 75% (it’s not enough to recieve damage that will take you under 75%)
- I havn’t tested the threshold to see if it actually is 75%
- The recharge is somwhere between 60 and 90 seconds (too high for me to care about the trait and make a more in depth test)
TLDR; The trait sucks
Wow 60 to 90….. complete garbage trait. Probably could work it into a condition build somehow. Probably a short bow bleed stack burst. 15 stacks of bleeding is ok i guess. But that ICD is really bad.
Seeing as the condition to activate it in a live situation means you arent completely in control of it. It should be much less.

What? 60 seconds? Are you sure? If it’s that high then its even worse than garbage.

From what I’ve seen while using it, this is right.
I have kitten health regen and have seen it proccing in the middle of fights.

For a tier one trait??
Its no ‘armor of earth’ but you still have to be able to see the use in a free 5 bleed stacks at the start of the vast majority of fights.
Its not free. Its 5 trait points. 5 points that could be better spent. Most fights dont even last 30 seconds let alone 60 seconds. 5 trait points for something that will only proc once…. questionable.
But there is some use for condition supression. High condition damage and all that bleed will hurt. Even if its very briefly.
Whatever floats your boat i guess.

Yep, couldn’t belive it myself at first, but be my guest and try it for yourself.
The easiest way (for me) is going to the mists, spec tank-build, aggro one of the NPCs and let them attack you while maintaining ~50% health via dodge/block/heal.
Ninja Edit
Its not free. Its 5 trait points.
Actually it’s 10 points, doesn’t make it any better though.

Yeah ignore me head is somewhere else today (continues with moving house)

Just a quick question that has probably been answered, but i couldn’t find it. With the trait Keen Edge, if it gets off it’s internal cooldown while you are below 75% does it activate or do you have to actually pass the 75% mark?
If you take ANY damage at or below 75% health (or that drops you into the appropriate range) it will activate the effect.

(or that drops you into the appropriate range)
Actually you need to be hit while under 75%
If a single attack drops you from 100% to <75% the trait will not trigger on that hit.

Huh, didn’t know that, I tend to take soldier armor though (I like being a juggernaut) so that may be why I haven’t noticed this.

I just double checked versus Svanir with low armor, he hit me for ~3k each hit
- 15,082 (100%)
- 12,075 (80%)
- 9,201 (61%) first time under 75%
- 6187 (41%) first hit under 75% and the trait procs

Huh, traits not as useful as I originally thought, but still does its job for the builds I use it in.

Ok tested this with the NPCs in the mists, the trait’s internal cooldown appears to be 6 freaking minutes long if you stay in combat, if you leave combat however it seems the normal 60seconds of sharpening stone applies.
Sounds like a bug to me actually, what you think?

God I hope that’s a bug… I hope it gets lowered to more like 30s…

Wow…just wow lol 6 minutes for 5 stacks of bleed lol
Devs i think you know what to do lol

Ok tested abit more the 60second cooldown of the trait starts after you leave combat meaning if you just had a fight and leave combat it will not proc again until 60s after you first left combat.
That’s just stupid as hell if anything it should have a flat 60s cooldown matching sharpening stone regardless if you leave combat or not, atleast that seems reasonable to me.
edit: Sharpening stone has a 45s cd, this trait feels worse and worse…

I reported it as a bug, maybe somthing will happen sometime until then I think we can all agree now this trait is not worth taking under any circumstance.
What if it triggered every 30 seconds when you health is above 90% full? Instead of rewarding you for getting hit, it rewards you for doing what you should be doing – avoiding damage. It would also raise the skill cap on DPS for ranged condition builds which get five bleed stacks every 30 seconds if they are avoiding damage.
Players who play at a range but don’t manage to stay completely healthy will not benefit from it but players who play at range and still manage to completely avoid damage (or admittedly, heal back up above 90%) will benefit from it.
I’m not a fan of mechanics which don’t work when you are playing poorly unless they are defensive ones (like Bark Skin, or stealth when stunned). Offensive mechanics shouldn’t be useless when you are at 100% health.

If they made this change my condi longbow build would become amazingly powerful, and as such i fully support this xD.
Not to mention that i agree that traits shouldn’t reward you for getting your kitten kicked and defensive skills should be the only ones that trigger as you die, the others should trigger for being healthy/good.
EDIT: Maybe Opening Strikes should work where it refreshes every 10s as long as you’re at 90% or higher health to make it fit the whole sniper thing better…

Ok tested abit more the 60second cooldown of the trait starts after you leave combat meaning if you just had a fight and leave combat it will not proc again until 60s after you first left combat.
Did you double check that, what was your test layout?
Cause in my tests the trait triggered between every 2nd to 3rd use of Healing Spring so for me it was always between 60 to 90 seconds CD and i have been in combat the whole time.
Also it would be tho only skill (that i know of) that recharges faster out of combat.
Now that i think of it… Maybe the CD starts recharging after you are back at over 75% (I tried to stay ~50% HP during my tests , but I can’t guarantee I never once went over 75%)…
Personally I don’t really care about the trait anymore, but if someone wats to test it, share your results

I was using a stopwatch and fighting the NPCs in the mist, I went from below 75% to full health multiple times and it would not proc again until after 6minutes in combat where it instantly gave me sharpening stone again, I did this several times and on diffrent NPCs with the same result.
Then I did the same thing but made sure I killed the NPC right after the first proc to leave combat and see how fast I could get it to proc again, I couldn’t get it to proc again until 60s after leaving combat, same result on diffrent NPCs multiple times in a row.
I haven’t tested on players though as I couldn’t find anyone at the time so if you want to test against other players do that.
