How is the Ranger Shortbow? I hardly ever see anyone using it or talking about it. Is it a bad weapon or is it just stuck in the middle, neither a good nor bad weapon. Just curious.

Bad for DPS.
Fine for hybrid build utility.

Never will be a “best choice” but it’s the only reliable and user-friendly condition/hybrid weapon available.

So if you feel like using it for PvP (it has no use in PvE), there are some ways to make it a good weapon. It’s not like the weapon is terrible itself. It’s just the DPS is too bad.

SB is used in condi builds so i can tell you this, after a discussion with some of my friends that are playing Ranger as their main, we tried each build we could think of to see if there is some hope for this class in HoT.

After a week of constant playing in pvp (with constructed teams) we agreed, that expect of Healing builds with no DMG there are almost no playeble builds anymore.

Of course it´s not like all builds are useless, but you need great knowlage of all other classes to be able to counter them and have much experiences with ranger.

And as for your question: SB, in my opinion, is now useless. From my week of playing with ranger i confirmed that his condi dmg is now inferior to all other classes.

SB needs work, alot of work.
