Shortbows no longer pierce?
Light on Your Feet – Grandmaster trait in Skirmishing allows Shortbow attacks to pierce.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
Ahh, thanks. I did overlook it. But since I don’t spec into skirmishing (solo PvE player) I will do without or simply play my guardian instead. RIP Dreamer.
Any reason in particular you don’t want to go into skirmishing? Your preferred field of play has nothing to do with what you can or can’t run.
Seems a silly reason to retire your Dreamer when you can get it functioning again with piercing in like a few seconds.
You should give everything a try. One of the best things about this update is that it’s easier than ever to play with all the different trait lines.
And if it sucks, take another second or two to swap to something else. You can make some interesting and unconventional combos that just weren’t possible before.
Not everything is picture perfect ATM regarding traits with obvious bugs about, but it’s very much functional.
I lose so much just to gain piercing shortbow arrows. It is not a good enough trade to run it. I can wait and simply play another toon.
…And here I thought Skirmishing was the best Specialization for Rangers.

Just for the record, Skrimishing is a very good traitline for PVE due to “spotter” so u dont give up on anything. Also both sharpened edges and hunter’s tactics are just made for SB.
You can create a nice hybrid build with 100% crit chance(with prema fury) and ~20might stacking all the time.
somthing like -

so togather with everything you have 95% bonus to might duration.

You lose quickdraw, but since you’re playing a shortbow in open PvE, it’s not a big deal. You can easily run around without weapon swapping there. The traitline itself is great, and should always be taken. Spotter and sharpened edges work great with everything, and more bleeds on the shortbow is always useful. Hidden barbs is also great if you don’t care about spotter.
This is gonna make me sound like a kitten but, kitten it. If your using a shortbow and not running skirmishing your build is bad period.
Edit: Here made a pve shortbow build for ya OP
You can swap sword for MH Axe if you prefer, your pets can very but try to use ones that do condi with their F2, and try to swap pet in your bonfire for more might from clarion bound.
Edit 2: you can use Krait or Mad king runes if you don’t want to run CM but you lose alot of might.

LughLongArm.5460, I will try your build. Thanks for the input, it is appreciated.

Cool m8, one litle mistake i made, on the NM trait line, it supposed to be windborne notes and not evasive purity. Also, if HS doesnt heal your pet for enough, just take HAO.
Good Luck.
I can’t imagine not using skirmishing
I’m not sure whether ‘compulsory’ or ‘greatly recommended’ is a better term to use for the Spotter trait.

If you are with a group of people, it is compulsory, if you want to contribute something meaningful that is.
