Should Traps do no damage?

I imagine this would get out of hand rather quickly due to the high condi spikes while maintaining stealth and mobility. While it sounds fun this would be an extremely unbalanced set up and would destroy all hope of seeing trappers runes making it to SPVP.
This is not necessary, neither sounds balanced.
In reality, you already have 2 traps that do fulfill your expectations. If you are using Spike Trap and Ice Trap – than you’d experience less problems with this matter.
Me myself have been using a Glass Cannon variation of trap ranger in WvW for a while. Using utility instead of Signets. And it payed off a million times. I simply run SotH for roaming, Ice Trap + Spike trap for utility. And believe me.
It’s really rewarding to play smart as Ranger. You don’t always have to request new mechanics. The way of game you seek is already there, it’s just hard to be found.
Of course, Ice Trap deals no damage whatsoever and Spike Trap can be avoided whole, but if it is the stealth you seek – than there are no better traps for this role. You can’t even imagine how Ice Trap is underestimated.
It would be Prismatic Understanding 2.0 .
There’s whole play around kiting INTO traps in some builds or leaving them spreaded on escape.
