Anyone else notice how the Borderland Bloodlust buffs don’t affect our pets? I mean, since our pets are part of our damage, certainly it should affect their stats too?

It should, but ANet is to lazy to code in a real pet for rangers so they use the same code that’s already there for the NPC version of your pet. They said that they won’t be touching pets anymore because if they try to change something in pets it also creates problems for them on the NPC counterpart.

^Yep, and its bloody stupid and a lazy attutide Anet have.

It should be a separate AI for player pets, Anet knows this and are simply too lazy and cheap to add an extra AI set only attached to player pets. I mean they could add an extra catagory to AI sets marked “player_pets” and copy/paste over all the NPC animal AI code then tweak away.

But that is “to much work” apparently.

I think it’s a lazy way to do it from the start, let alone not changing it now. Something that’s such a large chunk of what makes a ranger a ranger in this game and they lazily code it on the same framework that is the NPC counterpart? It should be a completely separate entity. Any kind of forethought should have made them aware of the fact that pets would need to be adjusted down the line.

6 weeks in between the Dec 10 patch and the Jan 21 patch – I’m hoping they spent that 6 week development timespan to focus on fixing some big things.
