Kind of crappy to have a 40% damage ability that I can’t use with my pets F2 attacks.
It’s dumb as all hell.
Brb Jaguar is the only one who can use their pet ability in tandem with Sick-Em.
Sure we’re all Scared of Birds massacring us but srs..
Looks like a bug, i can’t imagine it was intended…
you have to use the ability before you use Sic’ Em, even with the Jaguar.
I haven’t tested to see if I can prime my drake’s lighting attack with it, but I know you can pop signet of the wild while they’re charging their attack.
Just see sick’em as a single target burst over 10 sec.

You can’t.
Using Sick ‘em is a knew command for the pet saying ’stop what you are doing and go to this target and attack for 10~ seconds’ it interrupts any current actions.
I personally tested it with the drakes.
Literally only worthwhile for jaguar and Rampage as One spikes.

Shoddy programing just like the rest of the pet coding.

Using any pet command will break the other shouts… the pet will stop reviving allies, protecting you, and guarding that area. So pet commands breaking Sick ’Em is consistent, even though it is counterintuitive.
I was doing some tests on “Sick ’Em” to see if the active from Signet of the Hunt would boost every hit from Lightning Breath or just the first one (it appears it’s only the first one) and then I tried “Sick ’Em”. Turns out “Sick ’Em” doesn’t work on F2 skill at all. If you use “Sick ’Em” and then command your pet to use an F2 skill, the buff from the shout will disappear from the pet UI (you can see this by selecting the pet or watch the drop in the DPS). What was more annoying was that the buff from Sick ‘Em ended prematurely even without using an F2 skill. I think it has something to do with the pet using any skill other than it’s auto attack (although sometimes this didn’t appear to have anything to do with it). Every time my drake used Tail Swipe the “Sick ’Em” buff disappeared. The same thing was happening with my wolf although it didn’t always seem to require it using any special skills (“Sick ’Em” appeared to be ending prematurely even when my wolf didn’t use a leap).
The only action I take when engaging and throughout the fight is to use “Sick ’Em”. I’m not telling my pet to use its F2 skill, I’m not pressing F1, F2 or F3, I’m not targeting other mobs for myself, it’s even happening if I keep the target selected (I can see the DPS drop to know the buff was removed prematurely).
Is “Sick ’Em” working for anyone else? Can anyone explain the behaviour I’m seeing here or is it just another bug that was either introduced recently or went under the radar because of the poor UI feedback (you can’t see buffs on your pet without specifically selecting your pet) and the unattractiveness of this skill?
There appears to be something else which causes it to end prematurely and it has nothing to do with commands or targets.
Sic’Em ends if you use it before engaging the target in combat.
For example, If I use Sic’Em first and it sends my pet in before telling my pet to attack, It will run alway to the mob and then stop for a split second (which is the buff dropping) before attacking.
This is a known bug from this ability.
It also won’t work with F2 abilities, or basically anything that is considered an “action” by your pet.
They need to make sick em give the pets 100% increased run speed to run down the sissies that run from a ranger.
Shouldnt be able to outrun a jaguar or wolf anyway.

I can’t be the only one who regularly face palms when finding out how much fail is built into ranger utilities and traits (not that it would be specific to our class). It’s like they didn’t even test half the stuff in the game because within seconds of actually paying attention to this skill (in the past I assumed like a naive moron that skills would work according to their tool tips – and that tool tips would be remotely accurate) and no experience in QA it became clear to me this skill didn’t work properly.
