Sic 'em cannot be dodged
At this point the only way for them to really deliver is if they revamp the whole pet AI/pet system. Other than that it’s just fluff to try and keep us happy.
Not that impressed with Sic ‘Em to be honest. It’s just more roaming changes for a class that is already a reasonably strong roamer. We need some hardcore group utility changes.
Especially given all the changes they’re making to the other classes based off that preview.
is a shout, is sure you cant dodge that lollllll
4sec pfff lollll wow…
need a trait to grant duration…

Chopps why should you care? According to you ranger has barely issues, and is not underpowered. So no ranger boosts for chopps. Personal teasing aside, yes i sincerely hope there’s more in this patch then this. Especially for sword. I tried ranger again today and apart from casual gameplay (dynamic events where ranger is incredible much fun), ranger is still underpowered.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
4 is one second more than the 3 they already get from attacking in stealth. This won’t be game breaking against any good thieves and mesmers blink around too much for the damage boost on the pet to even matter.
Unless they change the cooldown it’ll just be used by people who were already using sick’em and the rest of us will just keep using stone sig with high armor and playing on our toes.
A better condition removal for when the thieves hit you with immob for their burst would have gone a much longer way than this.

I can’t believe you actually made a thread for this Chopps
…props for being such an optimist I guess, but come on man….
When was there EVER a precedent in the entirety of GW’s history where this sort of mechanic would normally be blocked or dodged? … You’re justifying on a qualifier that has never existed. And the vast majority of comments are all still 100% focused on the duration… it’s really really really short… duration (which had to be applied BEFORE the target stealths meaning that all they have to do is wait a few seconds if they were planning to use a stealth that was on a long C/D)
You guys are missing the point. Those 4 seconds can easily be the difference between someone living and dying, or enough time for an interrupt of ours to come up to screw them further. This is a good change, and I expect a well-played ranger will be hell for any profession that relies on stealth.

Um, no, simmer down there pistol pete. During the livestream, someone asked this question. The dev answered it on the air, saying “that’s a good question, no it cannot be dodged”. This was new information so I posted it here.

The most dangerous thieves don’t use d/d or rely heavily on stealth. Anyone with decent physical damage output and enough toughness to survive the initial strike or two from the gank thief can turn the tides with ease. You won’t catch them but they won’t kitten with you once they know you know they’re there and wont fold to their instagib.

Odd that people focus so much on the 1v1 aspect when the reality is, in high level play, it will see much more use to prevent stealth stomps and resurrects. As far as the “instagib” thieves go, I was watching docMed play yesterday. Very few people “won’t fold to their instagib”. He was just going into corners, blinding power, leaping, stacking stealth duration for many seconds, flying around the field, and basically doing whatever he wanted. So I disagree with your assessment.

Right …. people ask stupid questions in streams. This is news HOW??
I saw a GOOD question get asked though about 1H sword chain.
Funny how they always ignore that one smart question…

Which is exactly where people already complain too much about Ranger being viable. … so going by your own admission here, Anet is incapable and grossly negligent at carefully targeting where their changes are supposed to have a real effect. IOW: This is a bad patch patch overall for everyone, not just PvE/WvW ranger

But they didn’t answer that one. There’s no new information. Had that been answered I would have posted that here too.
Besides, I still don’t see how it’s a dumb question. The application of reveal is totally new. What if you shouted while the enemy was evading? It really is a reasonable question.
Why are you so mad about questions? Just be patient, everything will get revealed tomorrow.

You’re right, my Bad…. We’re still waiting on the fine print where they sometimes list the nerfs. (assuming they won’t be unlisted stealth nerfs like the barrage nerf was)

No worries, I jumped the gun on what I thought was a buff to rejuvenation (I was wrong). We’re all excited.
Wow, preventing stealth res is a HUGE nerf to thieves (no sarcasm), and 4 sec stealth debuff will also be major against some thief builds.
Its a nice buff for the shout/regen build for sure.

I don’t think it was a stupid question. You use the shout and how is the revealed applied? directly from the shout? when the pet first hits the target? If the pet does the applying of reveal then it makes sense to be able to dodge it. They just cleared it up that it’s an instant application once the shout is used. I think it was a good question.
Wu Táng Financial [Táng] – YB
Shouts are aoe effects as I understand it the reveal will be applied to anyone within the 3000 rage the shout has, it is centered on you not the pet you are doing it.
So if I am not mistaken you will break any stealth or invisibility in that area for 4 sec once every 40 sec and will prevent restealth for 4 sec. I might be wrong so wait until later….
So they didn’t mention anything about Ranger Weapon #’s being adjusted like they mentioned earlier in posts here on these forums?

They took a swing with maul and it landed 5 stack vulnerability and a 1600 noncrit with very little power traited (not sure what he had equipped but it wasn’t a lot). So I think we can safely assume Maul is going up. As for the rest of the abilities, no one knows yet.
