"Sigil meta" for rangers
Currently @ some T1 server in EU
I’ve been running Sigil of Renewal + Sigil of Water because “What the kitten is dying?”
PS: Jcbroe was using Fire + Air earlier on a zerker bow build and it was like a kittening Rail Gun of death and despair…. those poor bookahs…

I think I’m going to need more bows.
have anyone tried the ‘survival of the fittest’+QZ on SB or LB combo yet? how long is the fury?
i tested 10/30/0/30 and 0/30/10/30
with gs and lb rly funny
new sigil of intelligence works great with lb 3 weapon swap gs 5+2+3

pet is mediocre and you should focus your sigils for doing raw damage.
and not to try to buff an unreliable source of damage.
Anyway even with 30 beastmatery the pets still get one shotted by bosses

it’s hardly unreliable now, saying so is a sign that you haven’t played the patch or don’t know how to utilize your pet.

I’m going back to trying the SB again in WvW because of it’s rate of fire, combined with on-hit sigils. What’s the Ranger braintrust’s opinion of Sigil of Frailty now? Using both Frailty and Sigil of Peril, plus a feline pet, it seems pretty easy to keep 4-7 stacks of vulnerability on a target with the SB.
I have not yet tested, but Hunter’s Call (War Horn) could also provide about 8 stacks of vuln quickly, and of course LB Rapid fire should be able to really pile it up, and Barrage should provide about 6 stacks of AOE vuln.
I’ve never really given much thought to vulnerability, but it seems like a potentially powerful condition because (as I understand it) unlike other conditions, it’s impact isn’t dependant on condition damage stats, and it scales with the number of attackers and the damage of the attacks. Every bit of damage, from every source, becomes more effective.
Thoughts?

About 7 1/2 seconds. A decent amount of time. Especially if you’re running several Survival traits. Such as lightning reflexes and QZ. MT also has a 20s traited CD so you can easily get perma fury if desired.

Vulnerability is always a welcome condition, and rangers are good at applying it, if you’re running 30 in marks + remorseless + fraility + peril you’ll probably be able to maintain 25 vuln by yourself easy, not to mention we are rangers, and as such benefit the most out of any profession from the vulnerability since it boosts our pets damage as well.
Personally I’d take the LB instead of SB if you’ll be running for vuln, then again, I just enjoy having lightning + fire or having Superior Strength, especially if I’ve for 15 in NM and companions might.

Ive got perma fury going with swapping warhorn. Great thing is my +buff is up to +45% now since the “survival of the fittest” is in that line. Also on greatsword 50% to hit. Only time fury is down is when I have my bow out and even then only intermittantly.
My fury on SOTF is about 8.75 so working backwards the base would be more like 6 seconds…

I’ve got a question regarding sigils. I run a SB/S+W zerker ranger. This combo is pretty satisfying for me, but i don’t really know what to do with an additional sigil slot. Considering latest changes, what would be more viable and useful in PvE – bloodlust or perception? In other words – should i choose power over precision or precision over power?
Power is almost always better, and with the ferocity nerf power is a clear winner. Bloodlust is pretty expensive though.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
I’m sticking with my Bloodlust, but I’m liking Frailty for my second.

Thanks for such a fast response, decided to run Bloodlust.
Intelligence is great on the great sword for the 5/2/3 combo. But the crit damage nerf has me doubting power in general.

The nerf hurts mostly those who try to max out crit damage. Even without any extra ferocity, you still do +50% damage. Which is notable. So even with close to zero extra ferocity, the 3 crits is a nice boost.
If you use full PVT, with around 2000 power, you should be able to reach 4.5k on tankier targets with maul. Which is not half bad.

I dont usually go for melee – centric builds, or DPS pets, or anything even like this sort of build…
But this looks fun:
With those Runes, Sigils, Traits and Pet, should easily be holding 10+ might stacks, with many more on your pet thanks to RaO, Fortifying Bond and Sword AA… Potential damage is rediculously high and still which 3k armour and 26k health.
I’ve talked myself into it.. this will be my next build. If I ever get more than 10g ever again :P
EDIT: Not sure how I ended up posting that here. Got a bit offtopic.. sorry. Was looking at what Prysin said above and went off building^^
At the moment I have just Sigil of Ice on my SB (Earth was already on it) and have swapped spike trap for frost trap. Chill never gets old really lol.

I’ve used Luck for awhile (good with fortifying bond) , and it just got a decent boost.
•Sigil of Luck: Reworked the percentage chances so that all boons have a more equal chance to activate. Added stability to the list (3 seconds). Increased the duration of might from 5 seconds to 15 seconds. Increased the fury duration from 5 seconds to 8 seconds. Chance to activate on kill rescaled from 30%, 40%, and 50% to 25%, 50%, and 75% for the minor, major, and superior versions, respectively.
