The Never Ending Repertoire of Ranger Builds
Salt of the Earth {SALT} Crystal Desert© ~~Dragon Rank~~
I was just pondering and since I’m at work I can’t test it out but does Signet of Renewal clear conditions from you AND your pet when you are Signet of Beastmaster traited? Anyone try it out?
Edit: I’m wondering when you activate it.
The signet transfers conditions off of all nearby allies (including you) to your pet. If you have signet of beastmaster then the exact same thing will still happen.
THE CONDITIONS DO NOT TRANSFER TO YOU. EVER.

From my perspective, considering an environment with lots of different conditions (for instance WvW).
Activating Signet of Renewal without Signet of the Beastmaster: Your pet will suffer and potentially die (unless you ‘Swap Pet’).
Activating Signet of Renewal with Signet of the Beastmaster: You and your pet will suffer and potentially die (sadly you can’t ‘Swap Ranger’).
Seeing that neither you nor your pet gets any benefits, it stands to reason why I believe that this signet’s active ability is completely worthless.
If my Guardian were to yell ‘Save Yourselves!’ it basically does the same thing (transfer conditions). However, in doing so he will turn into a god because of all the boons he’ll get in return.
And funny thing that ‘Save Yourselves!’ has the exact same cooldown; yet offers a lot of benefits when activated compared to an untraited Renewal where you basically tell your pet to die (resulting in a loss of ~30-40% damage potential and/or a cooldown on your pet swap).
The only difference is that ‘Save Yourselves!’ is not a signet and doesn’t have a passive ability (but Guardians can have a veritable ton of passive condition removal).
It’s crazy just how much they put on our pets, everything we do seems to come down to our pets and it’s just dumb sometimes. “Protect Me!” is another example, warriors get a free “can’t kill me” button, what do we get? A dead pet.
Guardians buff themselves when they pull conditions, what do we get? A dead pet, and if it’s traited, a dead Ranger.
Maybe it would be best if they just renamed all the signet (shouts as well) on ranger as a new type of skill as they do not follow the rule of the other signets, ie need a trait for the active to function on the character (but only on 3/4 of them) and all the shouts are just extra pet commands.

no offence mate but this is just polemic and simply untrue.
sure if you use a bird or cat they will die pretty quickly.
the way I see it, this is meant to be used with:
with a setup like that you can, with the 20% cd reduction trait:
Pull 1 condition from ‘all’ (propably only 5) nearby allies every 48 secs.
your pet wont die of that, since:
on topic:
The way I understand it:
Singet of Renewal pulls the conditons to your pet. As the OP stated, it will with the Signet of the Beastmaster trait not start pulling them to you, too. I tested that and can approve of his observation.
what i think the actual effect to be is:
that the conditions are not only going to be drawn from a radius around your pet but also from a radius around the Ranger itself but still be transfered to the pet.

Exactly. What happens is anyone now also in range of YOU gets THEIR conditions set to pet also. Normally, only people within range of pet are cleansesd.
