Signet of the Hunt
I use it for the active eff-ehehehe…
Sorry, I can’t say it with a straight face.

Every time I accidentally activate that while running around the world, I die a little inside.
Because sometime i dont have time to swap it before combat…
Haha, I don’t know either. I could ask your question to the ranger I saw using spirits. Maybe it was an accident. Like they facerolled their keyboard when their pet got one shotted and half their dps was gone.
I use it, but I dont wvw yet. Waiting for the fabled ranger buffs first. I use it with raven mostly, because combining it with ravens f2 makes it crit for 7-9k. So imo its worth it for certain pets, such as birds. Thats about it tho.
I used to use it with Sharpening Stone and QZ when I ran a full-on glass cannon leveling for funsies. Sometimes I still equip it and pretend it does something. The poor fella is all lonely hanging out with Spirits and Racial skills all day in the land of worthless utilities.
Mark my words though, the patch will give SotH the same changes Thieves got for their equivalent skills. Then, SotH will finally be useful.
I use it because 1) it gives you some extra movement speed (hahahahaha like that 10% will actually -do- anything!!) and 2) i’ve learned when you activate it as a drake is charging their breathe attack it effects the whole lightning breathe and everything dies… It’s quite awesome and scary…

Yeah, even if it doesn’t work on you, it still works on your pet. And like Durzlla said, a drake under the effects of QZ and SotH is awesome.

Agreed, I want the change to signet of the hunt also. That way I can pop rapid fire with it.

Ever seen a raven? I did see a drake but I believe raven is better and more reliable for pvp. Even a jag does more damage than a drake, but drakes f2 is sexy for aoe and damage.

The drake F2 is pretty much unparalleled when it comes to pet specials. They’re mediocre the rest of the time, but their specials are something to write home about.
I honestly don’t use them that often. If I’m using melee pets in PvP it’s either a bird or a hound for melee and a spider for ranged. I use the bird for the increased attack rate and low CD specials, which allows them to hit moving targets more reliably. I tend to use a hound more often (usually a wolf or drakehound and sometimes a fern hound for regeneration) for the control they provide. Jungle spider is probably my favorite pet. It has decent ranged ability, good control, and an amazing F2.
[Edit: In all fairness, I haven’t tested all the pet specials in the Mists, but I might do that one day when I’m not busy killing fools in W3.]
@Dante well lol, i’d HOPE any other pet does more damage then a drake (other then the drake F2 cause that just kitten people) because the drake pet is currently bugged and can only use their #1 skill and their F2 skill…. oh how i long for them to have Tail Sweep and Chomp again…
