What does it mean to say that te rangers signets will be more like real signets? I don’t understand the change. Can someone explain what the change does for the signets. Thank you.

After the update all signet benefits will apply to the player, instead of just the pet in many cases.

For example Signet of the Stone, currently when you activate it only the pet will get immune to damage for 6 seconds, you need the GM Trait Signet of the Beastmaster to that affect also apply to the player, after the update the signet will work on the player by default and a new GM Trait will be added.

Yea, basically for other classes both passive and active affects of the Signet effect the player. Rangers were alone where active affects were only effecting the Pet.

There was however a trait that could be taken to make the affects effect the player too. So with this update that trait is now redundant and a new one will replace it.

There is a “Range” in “Ranger” you know…

I tried the Beastmaster trait to get a feel for what Signets will be like post patch.
For SotWild, my ranger didn’t get the 50% movement speed buff part. Is anyone else seeing the same?

Don’t quote me on this, but I’m fairly certain that the enlargement transformation slows you down when you get bigger, so you move 50% faster to compensate, which ends up normalizing movement speed.

That being said, it’s very ambiguous and I haven’t actually used the skill in awhile, so this information could be entirely inaccurate.

Ya I asked and tested this as well. You do not move faster. 50% movement speed for 8 seconds would be crazy powerful.

As a PvP main Mesmer, can I have a free GM trait too plz? Think about it Anet.

I have 10 geared 80s and Ranger is one of my faves. Pretty excited about the changes and even more excited about other profession changes.

One VERY important thing about the signet change, IMO, is maybe less Ranger hate in dungeons for having signets equipped w/o any proof that they’re traited for productivity instead of a passive crutch. (?)

I, personally, only use signets situationally now when max DPs isn’t as much of a concern. (I’m glaring at you time-gated CoF, etc dungeon portions.) I’ve never considered for a second taking BM Sig over another trait-spread as a full melee Ranger. This will open up a few options/trade-offs for me that I’m looking forward too.

Oh…and WHOOT for my GS not being my ‘100% only useful as a defensive weapon while my heal comes off of CD’ weapon anymore. No way possible anything will compete with my main hand sword anyway. Speaking of which, after getting rid of the BM Sig trait, I’m now, for the first time ever, stewing over whether I should invest 2 more into MMS line for the 8.5% ‘guaranteed’ bonus damage.
