No, not Protect Me skill. Right now there are two modes pets can be in – Guard (which is badly named – its really Attack) mode and Avoid Combat mode.

What there needs to be is a Protect mode.

Guard mode the pets attack what you are attacking or enemies that attack you. I think this confuses them. Often this amounts to them just running around, often too far away from you and this is why they die so fast to AoE, especially in WvW.

Protect mode would command the pet to stay near you and protect you. They would attack anyone who comes near you but not run off and get themselves killed so easily.

This simple change would open up whole new possiblities for Rangers. Pet would be less of a liability and actually serve a purpose. It would be hugely beneficial in WvW and make Rangers more viable in large group play.

Yes! Oh please yes!! LOTRO had this mode, and it was supper useful in raids and dungeons. Less micromanaging for the Loremaster, which to this day, has required more micromanaging than any other class I’ve played in an MMO.
