The GS is actually one of the few weapons we have that works fine. Its more of a defensive weapon, any increase in damage on that would be OP.

GS is a fantastic weapon, use it just for the swoop or build around it and use it in power build or as a purely defensive off hand its works well.

As for my favorite build which will get destroyed tomorrow it was GS main with SB off hand Power Ranger 0/10/30/0/30 with birds. I could out run any one with perma swiftness Without swiftness! 25% speed signet + Swoop and you are faster than any one..You can’t be caught and even if they blow abilities it wont matter, just wait a few more sec and Swoop is up again.

Time your GS Block/Knock down right and you can burst with 50% pet dmg increase from GS daze+Signet active+Raven F2+Maul then swoop away 1,100 and switch to SB with 2 heal interrupts and snare+pet bleed..wow that hurts…

OP is a word that is not fitting for this weapon or this class. All they need to add is a blast finisher to maul, then the weapon is a proper weapon. Now it’s more like a mob/player tagger for loot/badges.

I did not say GS is OP. I said increasing the damage would make it OP.

GS is a balanced weapon between def/dmg/mobility (and the better ranger weapon to burst). What we really miss is a real control (like a lil stun), one we can control not one with 2+min cd or used by pet when he want to use it.

But I agree that the bleed effect on Maul is pretty useless for a GS Ranger, Vulnerabilty or something like that would be better.

I like the bleed as it plays really well with our pets and SB Cripple that causes all pet attacks to bleed. Even as a pure power build Maul+SB Cripple and its a good +7 stacks really fast.

GS could use a little bit of tweaking I think. Maul should be a blast finisher and the 2-5 skills shouldn’t reset our auto attack chain. That would let us support the other melee fighters and give is a little more control over when the evade in the auto attack chain happens.

As far as damage goes, the spear does more damage. You could raise the damage on GS by 40% across the board and it still wouldn’t be OP in PVE.

What GS do you all use with your rangers?

I’m about to buy my Exotic GS but most of the cool ones seem to have + Cond. Dmg. That doesn’t seem too useful – is it?

Unlless it affects traps – does it? I guess it would since it changes your attributes. But does the +Cond Dmg count when you lay the trap or when the trap goes off?

(Sorry, didn’t mean to derail your thread but its quasi related).
