No really they did. We’ve always got a backseat when it’s come to updates and now they remove the ranger combat testing NPC in the heart of the mists. It’s pretty much a declaration of how little they think of us and Anet is pretty much stating that nobody should role ranger in PvP. Honestly, when is the last time you saw an Anet guy playing ranger in WvW? I’m told there are Anet devs that play as ranger but I’ve yet to see any, anywhere. I’ve seen the occasional neer and necro but 9 times out of 10 it’s a warrior with the Anet symbol hovering over his nameplate…

Anyhow before I veer anymore off-topic, I will say this doesn’t surprise me since it took them well over a year to fix the kitten pet’s responsiveness and they still slam us with nerfs every major patch.

Ah, it’s their first step to removing this class from the game.

I’m sorry. I just find this happening to be pretty hilarious.

They will make the new training NPC a Bearbow. It will have 3 signets, be turned back on foe when firing and you’ll have to deal with brown bear.

I had to see it for myself to truly believe it – they removed the ranger training npc in heart of the mists.

WOW!!!! Could Anet be anymore obvious in showing how little care or thought they have for rangers. Why not simply remove the class once and for all……simply end the suffering, it’s gone on long enough.

The new version will be a target with the face of a bear wearing a dunce cap. Cause that’s how everyone, other than those of us who play one, sees the ranger class. Thanks, ANeT.

This would be funny if it wasn’t so freakin’ telling.

I was looking for him when I was trying to complete one of my dailies. After running around for a while, looking over the cliffs to see if he might have fallen off or something, I just resorted to the Necro and Thief.

It would be cool if they removed him for an upgrade. As he was, he was really more annoying than challenging.

They probably had to simply fix him, because there were 3 very common bugs that occured with him…

1) He’d try to cast barrage and if you interrupted it he just stood there staring at you like an idiot until he died.

2) His pet wouldn’t spawn.

3) His pet would spawn infinitely until he either died or you were overrun by Lynx’s and devoured. (my personal favorite)

Because the ranger NPC (as I stated in my post) isn’t only a kittenty NPC to fight against that barely symbolizes a real player, but also was bugged to the point of being entirely inaccurate representation of fighting a player of that profession.

People need to test their build properly by fighting 2~3 of them at once.

They fight better than a lot of players I’ve seen which is the sad part, and by “test your build” I mean “if your build can’t win a 1v1 vs all of them it’s trash and you need to change it.”

But… doesn’t that same flaw actually mean it was the perfect representation of the Ranger? It was a bad player with a buggy pet. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if the fix they did for the pets is what broke the NPC Ranger. In order for our pets to work, its pet wouldn’t anymore.
