Solo Roaming Ranger Effective?

From what I’ve read on the Ranger forums, the class really needs some help. However, are they at least decent as a roamer in WvW? If so, can one of you please link me to a build that you recommend?

They’re fine at roaming. Most complaints are PvE oriented. (Dungeons, etc)
