Solution HaO Getting pets DPS Back
I’d rather have a +25% damage modifier if pet is inactive.

Longbow already has the potential to crit upwards of 4k+ from 1200+ Range in a zerker build, 25% more damage on top of that is stupid.

Or this:
Heal as One:
Heals you and your pet for XXX. Revives pet if dead and activates ‘on swap’ effects. Gain vigor if you and your pet has less than 50% health.
I think having a pet revive mechanic on heal as one would actually give it a unique purpose. Right now, heal as one is pretty much ignored, and only really useful if you’re running a glass build for which troll unguent isn’t feasible (although healing spring would arguably still be the better choice over heal as one). However, it would mean that it provides an option to help compensate for pets wandering into AoEs and being exploded, and just dying every 2 seconds to world bosses.
Of course, having a pet revive on a 20s cooldown could potentially be quite strong because it would make it difficult to counter the pet. For instance, the ranger could revive the pet, then immediately swap it out. So even though the pet was revived with low health, it allows them to swap to their second pet and get the 20s swap cooldown instead of the 60s one for swapping out a dead pet. That could end up being a big deal in a PvP scenario.
A simple way to establish a tradeoff would be to alter the cooldown. For instance, if used to revive a pet, the skill could perhaps go on a 30s cooldown instead of 20s, meaning there’s still incentive to swap pets before they die, and so that the pet revive doesn’t come for free. Alternatively, it could heal the ranger for a fraction of the normal amount if used to revive the pet (i.e. 66%), whereas it would do the full heal if the pet was still alive.
Of course one could argue that heal as one is simply underpowered and needs a buff, so a tradeoff may not be as necessary in this case.

You won’t blame the stupid amount of stat padding that also goes into the favor of every other class in WvW but will pull this out of the hat. How much sustain does ranger lose by going this amount of zerker? Literally , everything. All you have to do is one soft cc and a thief can take him out in 2 hits , same with any other burst class that has a ton more dmg/sustain ratio when equipped with zerker.
WvW is a very stupid place to base balance off of because it’s hardly balanced in the first place with food buffs and the amount of stat padding you’re able to achieve.

You could make it like a signet of malice type thing and heal on attack as passive with the same active heal effect.

I just want HaO to do something other than heal, lol. How about healing and giving the pet and the Ranger 5seconds of Retaliation and Protection?

Agreed! In full zerk you can peg people for up to 5, sometimes 6k if you’re lucky with Long Range Shot. But a Ranger in full zerk is about as brittle as antique china, if you glance in their general direction they’ll die, so I fail to see how giving us a bit more DPS when our pet is dead is a big deal. Bat your eyelashes at us and we’ll be dead anyway.
