Some BM videos
Nice videos. Thanks for sharing, I learned something new…. nice use of sword 2 especially in the last video.

Good vid but you are pretty much an evasion tank, I cant bring myself to play that.
stop showing how OP ranger is, they’re gonna nerf us…
My god…. you fight almost exactly how i do….

Lol thats not OP anyone can make a Bunker build on any class and do that

16k hp. It’s not really a tank, more like an evasive condition build.

Not really op. Actually there are builds harder to counter, they are all quite similar tho.

Yes, but that’s not completely true. A ranger could spec bunker and mantain good dmg using his pet.
i used to play BM very early in the game and worked just fine, tanky with a lot of dmg..actually i stuck 2 traits…BM 25 (5%healing to power) and 10% vitality to power..i got like 3k attack + a nice boost to heal and around 24k life..

this is an old i changed it a little since the last updates.
Anyway im a fun of the BM Ranger.
Why use 2 cats?i prefer using one bird instead, for more diversity.cats are full dps pets but birds got a nice swifteness buff..or wolf for the awesome aoe fear.Ranger got so little utility skills with boons and cc and he depends in pets to get em.

Its called evasion tank, his condi damage is very little, he has no condi damage outside of his 30 in wilderness. He has 3 evades on short cd + tons of vigor and dodge rolls, he isnt a full evasion tank without a dagger but he is about 90% evasion tank 10% pet damage. Dont get me wrong, that build and variations are decent, but really just not my thing. I play a ranger to play that hunter who snipes with a bow. Sadly I cant do that, so Im just semi focusing on pve until next patch.
Its not op, any class can do the same thing. Ranger just does it in a different way, we get pets to do our damage and they arent affected by our stats, guardians and mesmers get tons of retal, or clones, or spirit weps, engineers get burns, turrets, bombs, necros get wells, minions, cc. Each class has their own mechanics, just sucks that ours is not only forced upon us but easily killed.
Play your own music. Hope you enjoy.
I don’t disclose full builds, but it is a 0/0/30/10/30 spec.
What else could it be lol What some might be wondering is choice of Runes/Sigil/Neck.
I would go for healing but lest see what you did.

I highly doubt the op has only the 30 points in ws as cd. Sb+sword/torch is likely the best condition dmg setup we could use, and the linx is the best pet choice in this case. A power specced evasive bunker ranger has way more than 16k hp (i have almost 22k actually).
That said ye i’d like to play a sniper with bow as well. I think that’s what most ranger players want to play. It’s sad how we are “forced” to spend almost all our points in 2 trees.
I like this a lot. So what kind of stats do you stack? is it toughness and con dam? orr? sorry if this is a stupid question but i like NEVER pvp and would like to try it and do some what well.
Everyone wants to play a sniper with a bow, why the hell wont anet just concede that their idea for ranger is flawed and give the customers what they want? Oh well, Im unforgiving, this next patch is my last if I dont get satisfaction from any changes they may make.
RMG, I could be wrong but I believe he stacks toughness and healing power, shaman or cleric ammy, could be wrong since Ive never ran this setup but it should be very similar to every ele playing the game atm since all they do is play one build.
what does it means “everyone wants to play a sniper with a bow”?did you made some research or something or you just assume?i can believe that many ppl choosed Ranger for the ranged dmg but you choose also a game that every class has a ranged dmg option..think about it
By everyone wants to play a sniper with a bow, what I meant was everyone I have spoken too who wants to use the longbow and play a longbow ranger wants to snipe or be a sniper, a ranged threat, and feel like one, and they all agree that isnt possible atm, casual players excluded. What does other classes having a ranged damage option mean? What does that have anything to do with having a sniper feel too a weapon or a realistic archery feel too it? While in RL its possible to shoot 10 arrows in about 5 secs, they wont be very powerful or superbly accurate, a real archer that happened to be quite good would fire about 25 arrows a minute taking about 2-2.5 secs per shot and get fairly accurate results, I want something like that. I already made my thread about how Id like them to change longbow, its nothing op at all, just change the feel of it. Also if another class had a longbow or hell even a shortbow that felt like rifle for warrior does, Id lvl one up and never look back, but they dont.
An evasive Bunker has not much more HP in my Opinion. He is focused on regeneration and Protection combined with lots of Toughness and Condition removal to heal up lost HP relatively quickly.
Remember as less HP you have as easier it is to recover them by your healing skills. The only thing why you need vitality is due to conditions which bypass your toughness/armor.
Thats the beauty of evasion tank, you can have low as kitten hp and still be extremely effective 1v1, and annoying.

Vitality is important vs condition yes but not only that. You can absorb burst combos much better. Also the key is never sacrifice your toughness; a ranger could easily get 2100+ tough, 22k hp and almost 2k power (without bloodlust). Protection is the most important thing, that’s why using dolyak runes is not the best option.
Btw what did you record with?

this build is awesome!!!!!
I use the cleric neck and runes of the flock. Sigils I had a conflict on my two one handed weapons since I had 2 on “weapon swap”s and didn’t notice since I was trying different builds/weapons before I found one combo I liked.
For recording, I use MSI Afterburner. Slightly complicated to set-up, but it is worth it.
You guys might already be bored of watching, but I uploaded another video last night of the same stuff

I had a really close battle 2v1 against warrior+thief @ ~7 minutes in and didn’t have time to cast my elite.

The last fight on this video you switched on auto attack for Sword, were you experimenting with something?
Also, please look at how he use Sword # 2 attack:
1) Fire Combo Field: Torch 5 —-—> Sword 2 —-—> Sword 2
2) Gap opener: Sword 2 —-—> Turn around, drop target —-—> Sword 2
The value of Sword!!!!

O.o you can record stuff on MSI afterburner? I’ve had that thing forever and never knew that…

@Fjandi: But you cannot combine these specs with sufficient healing power and Regeneration is where this build relies on. Anyway I do agree that protection is the most important thing, this is the reason why I gave runes of the forge a try.
The key of this build however is to avoid damage by appropiate dodging, blocking etc. This is how burst combos and damage should be avoided in general. And for stun+damage combos I use “guard” as a backup or my elite (RaO or Healing spirit), which is not that bad in combination with BM traits.
Anyway this is not my build I use different ones. This build is more like a one on one build. However some of the trait selections I dont understand
.
Without want to be rude, from what i see, most fights are against pvp starters. Would be more interesting to know the success in paid tournaments or at least people with rank 25+.
