Guild Wars 2

Okay, so my GF(XiaoMai.3245) started a ranger and really likes the
class and is thinking about switching as her main( from necro). She
likes being the support dps with atouch of healing while I go
headfirst in the fight (as a new thief I made recently and like) to
take stuff out quickly. And I have already told her that she isn’t
allowed to go bearbow.

What I have told her to try(just from looking at a build calc):
Valk armor, zerk weaps
Longbow/shortbow, or shortbow/ axe&wh

and this is just a quickly made build, haven’t really taken long to fully look at each and every trait.

Any suggestions/comments? (Constructive only please)

Stick to melee weapons in Dungeons etc, take the frost spirit (even untraited) and, yes, keep spotter. I’d also take RaO instead of Entangle.

Might want to clarify if this is for open world, dungeons or WvW

Somewhat all, she wants some build to use that no matter what game mode. But tends to do open world and WvW more.

Her exact words. “Porting back to LA to respec is just wasted time that me and my pet can use to cause more murder and meyhem!”

Yes, i know it is useful to min/max for each game type (i do most of the time, respeccing at least 5 times per day) but just want a sort of all around build.

For an “all around” build, I would suggest a BM bunker. x/x/30/x/30 with sword/dagger and axe/torch, or vice versa.

OR

a Signet ranger, there are many builds for this but I personally use 30/20/20/0/0 with a GS and which ever bow I feel like using.

I use both of these builds for all aspects of the game. Bear in mind, these are both bunker builds.
