Some questions about the trait bark skin
i dont know if it is working, but i use it always, and for some reason when we are running AC, specifically at Lt. Kholer i rarely die in his spinning attack even if i dont dodge
but it is combined with Bark skin + natures protection
Thats what 30% protection under 25% health. So 300 to 200 is the right difference.
To analyze benefit. Your health pool times .25 = 25% health pool. (25% health pool/x= 70/100) x= total damage to remove that 5000 health pool. total damage to remove health pool-25% health pool = effective additional HP.
so-
20,000 Health = 5000 (5000/x=70/100) = 70x= 500,000 x= 7142.85 ; 7142.85-5000 = 2142.85 effective additional HP.
To be fair if you took it you may well be doing a damage health low toughness build so
26,000 health = 6500 = (6500/x=70/100) = 70X= 650,000 = 9285.71 ; 9285.71 – 6500 = 2785.71 effective more health.
I’m sure there is a way to show the math easier. never was my strongsuit I do arithmitic.

I personally loved the looks of this trait but rarely used it. Looks like it could be great.

That was my feeling but when I built strong health I had low armor making the extra benefit still a 1 second elimination to burst classes. (Pvp not really a PvE factor)
When I had lower health I already built in massive toughness – incremental difference felt small again. Damage that bypasses toughness was a priority.
I end up preferring condition removal but that’s because I stay in radius of my pet and free a utility slot for a better stun break by doing so.

It’s a PvE trait, presuming you back off when your health is low – bark skin keeps you up from incidental damage in dungeons for those precious couple of seconds for an aoe heal to come in (or spring off cooldown). I’ve not measured the numbers, but it ‘feels’ like that last bit of my health is hard for those spammed AoEs (I can’t avoid all of ’em even on the defensive) to chip away at.
Incidentally I run with about 1.5k toughness and 1.4 vit, so kinda tanky but not full on.
After using this trait for a long time, I chose to swap to the other Grandmaster option instead. It’s the one where the pet pulls conditions off of the player.
The reason being, if someone is speccing defensively enough to look at that trait tier, he will not be at the 25% threshold very often. Deaths in pve are usually due to massive hits (1- or 2-shot from a champion, etc.) and Bark Skin does very little to help in that regard. For it to create any benefit, the player must be facing a stream of smaller hits AND unable to heal. In my experience, this circumstance just doesn’t arise often enough.
If it were improved to, say, 50% instead of 25%, I’d take another look.
