So after thinking for a long time to choose a character, I chose a ranger. I realized they were great for PVP (if you play like pro) and PVE.
I wanted to know what build is best to make(for pvp and pve), which skills should I go for, and whether there is a problem of joining groups(party) in the game as ranger.

You should choose your own game style and the build that you find the most fun for you.
I mostly play as a Zerk in PVE with offensive traits and using signets, quickness and bleed.
As for weapons i’m playing with a Greatsword/Longbow/Shortbow
And the GS/LB combination would be great now after the new patch.
For PVP i enjoy as hell condition build using only traps, could be a pain in the kitten for a lot of players.
And so far i didn’t have one problem joining groups, I’ve only seen once a dungeon that didn’t want rangers.
But rangers can be great support using spirit build though i think they are better as DPS using Zerk stats.
So just play with everything and decide which build is your favorite

There will always be problems with rangers joining groups, as there is not a lot of rangers who play the class properly. You have to show them you can actually play the class effectively.

for pvp, spirits are good, but gets shut down by warriors quite easily. May be alot easier to deal with them after the patch tho. Here is the build im running in pvp:

You have to be really good with positioning playing this.
