People are just so angry all the time. It’s okay Puandro, I know you didn’t say it like this so I will;
Half of the ranger community comes off as inept crying babies, and the good players have to feed them with builds to shut them up between patches.
That statement works for every single profession in the game too.

Moving on, completely agreed they gave rangers the elementalist treatment. Personally I would run 0/15/30/10/15 but I also have been running primarily conditions for awhile so I think it would make more sense for me. I wouldn’t know about power builds as much unfortunately.

Ranger DPS is higher in dungeons now due to:
1) piercing arrows
2) insane buff to companion’s might that we got
3) high crit chance

Piercing arrows in dungeons is crap. How often do mobs neatly line up for you to make any use of this?? They sure don’t for me …
Insane buffs and high crit chance mean nothing on dead pets or pets that cannot hit a barn door …
Rangers have been useless in dungeons for over 6 months, this is why I leveled a guardian and never bring my ranger. This patch did nothing to help that, it only made things worse.
Don’t agree on using Piercing Arrows in dungeons because it can aggro and pull unnecessary mobs. Personally always run Spotter in dungeons.
I don’t know if you guys noticed but I ran a power/beastmaster hybrid tonight in SOAC amatuer tourney and it worked well. The cat’s aren’t out of the picture by any means. All that happened is every pet became more viable lest porcine perhaps. If you think about what has changed—look at everything as a whole—you see that we have so many more options than we did before and we’re just as effective. I’m now thoroughly convinced that this was a PVE buff, spvp balance, and wvw buff all in one patch.
The balance team did incredible work and should be applauded. The naysayers will see once they get used to the new ways of being powerful.
I’d have to disagree with you here, in my opinion this nerf has just forced us more into using cats exclusively because now they are the only pets that do enough damage.

69% Crit Chance
Warhorn #4 manages to do on average of 10 might stacks for the duration of the hits, not bad.
Sword Auto was managing 7 stacks + 3 from Chain for 10 total
Axe #5 was doing 7 Might stacks average per channel.
SB Auto was doing 6 Stacks
GS Auto was doing 4 Stacks
at 39% crit chance, something i would be able to achieve with full cleric with Fury.
Axe #5 4 stacks
Warhorn #4 7 Stacks
Sword Auto 4 Stacks
SB Auto 3 stacks
GS Auto 2 stacks
Im looking at an average of 4 might extra if i took the trait, 140 power….. Meh not worth it for anything i will lose.
The trait is a must for PvE for sure though.
It’s not huge numbers of course but it’s also the added benefit of higher bleed damage if you have a cat with rending attacks.

Well in that regard the range nerf on shortbow actually is a benefit then.
Fact remains that with all the ‘miss miss dodge dodge blocked’ that you get as a ranger and a pet that either doesn’t hit the target or dies before it gets there or is useless in many situations in wvw this class isn’t much fun to play in wvw unless you run around being a soloist with a build built just for that.
Sure, rangers can win 1v1 or even 2v1 against a lot of other players with the right builds, but that doesn’t change the fact that the nerf has been done purely for spvp without any consideration for anything or anyone else and has left a sour taste in the vast majority of rangers mouths.
Much more fun classes to play – I dig out the rangers, play them for maybe ten minutes, get annoyed with pets missing everything (maybe if pets were immune to cripple and stun…) and the fact that MY OWN PET can block my attacks- obstruction- and the fact that barrage means you get to stand still forever whilst casting it, then switch to something that feels more like it’s making a contribution to wvw.

Nah, he is saying that in anet’s effort to nerf BM builds, they ended up hurting non BM builds more than they did BM due to the fact that non BM builds generally have very little or no points in Beastmastery, meaning that some of the pets nerfs or more apparent in pets when you have no points in BM.
17% down on 100 is far less than 17% on 300, so how is pet dmg nerf hurting more builds with no points in BM?
