I really like the soulbeast and spent the most time using it so far since the preview weekend started! But the stances felt so boring. I know they can be super cool and interesting to use and I wanted to post a suggestion for them.

When you enter a stance the icon shows a charge count that decays at intervals until it reaches 1. The charge count refreshes over time just like other ammo skills. The charge count affects the stances effectiveness, so it gets weaker the longer you are in it, but you can stay in it forever. You can only be in once stance at a time, so for a stance’s charge count to recharge you have to switch stances.

Another way is the opposite. When you enter a stance the icon shows a charge count of 1 and it increases at intervals until reaching a maximum count. And the charges affect the stances effects. So staying in a stance for a long time makes it stronger. The stances would need to be really tuned down for this style to work.

I think stances just need something to feel interesting. I see old mechanics getting updated to be more interesting and was shocked that ranger stances felt so dated in how they work. Hopefully it can change!

Problem with things like stances and signets and all those skills is that many of them are or at least feel like “buffed” versions of traits that you have to activate through your skill bar.

I want much more active skills. Skills that have really an impact of how the class plays. I want to see new attack skills, teleports etc.

And instead of something boring like “get might every time you hit for 6s”, I want things like:

- “Summon your pet while in beastmode, summon both pets if you’re not in beastmode” or
- “create a well of soulbound magic on the ground, which deals damage/ applies conditions/gives boons to your allies depending on your active pet archetype”

But that’s obviously too late.

But I agree, I would rather see a “permanent” stance.

Yeah, I think they can be made more active and fun!

Was trying to think of ways to do that, and my inspiration was a martial artist using animal style stances where stance swapping was encouraged.
