maybe im missing something, but soulbeast seems to perform pretty darn well as a burst dps melee class. Sword/axe GS with stone gazelle, sic em zeph… I dunno, seems pretty strong

I see no point to main hand dagger. It fits into the condi ranger theme, but condi ranger is so much about off hand torch and traps I fail to see how the dagger really adds to it. Axe is hot garbage, always will be, but axe 2 in fire fields still offers burning. dunno what dagger is really bringing

What gamemode are we talking about?

If you want to play condi PvE, the dagger is not a good choice, not mh not oh.

As condi you take the bristleback as pet with SB and A/T and never enter beastmode unless oyu can immediately aactivate all 3 F skills in it (which is a somewhat decent way of putting out AoE condi burst). After that you go back to playing core ranger until the F skills are ready again.

Btw: I wouldn’t get hyped about the power burst that you achieve with a broken pet, with a 40% dmg buff on yourself (or the pet) and a Maul on GS that uses its own AoO atm. All these things are very likely to be nerfed.

im not excited and I except everything to be changed slightly. I just dont see how soul beast is a better option for condi rather than power. im going to try what you just said though

Try that weird snake pet. Massive condis on that if you merge on low cooldowns.

Dagger is not better than what we have already but soulbeast is a huge improvement imo because those pet abilities really can shine.

I expect some changes/buffs to dagger MH. Right now I will stick to sword for condi specs in PvP and second option will be shortbow anyway.

No one knows what’s going to be nerfed yet, or even how much things will be nerfed. Thank you for actually sharing something you’ve had success with. Imo waaay too much whining going on in this forum. I know drawing attention to stuff is more likely to get it changed, but talking about builds etc. that are putting in work is nice too.
