Why these dont work together?

Probably because it causes damage before the knockdown occurs and thus won’t trigger the trait autonomously.

I am hitting the npc with axe AA which is 1/4 sec, the knockdown from trap is 1 sec, so this should trigger it. Shouldn’t?

Ya, it seems to be bugged. The knockdown from hounds it triggering the trait but not the knockdown from spike trap.
