Umm, i’m no professional ranger, and i was just experimenting with spirits recently, but here’s the build i’m using right now. I’d like you guys to share your thoughts (how much does this suck? i’m kind of a casual player and do mostly pve)

In short, weapons are S/D, SB (though i tend to use longbow since the patch and because i have a nice skin on it)
Healing spring – because it can heal the spirits too
Fire spirit – 70% to burn is quite nice and as far as i know burning ticks for most damage (also nice with Balthazar Runes)
Stone spirit – 70% to gain protection on hit (which means if you’re hitting; first i thought it is triggered when i am hit)
Signet of the Hunt – i often swap it for Frost Spirit when i’m not going anywhere (e.g. at world events) – 70% chance to do 10% bonus damage
as an elite skill i use all 3 according to the situation – Entangle when dealing with groups of mobs, Rampage as One when killing world bosses or champions, and Spirit of Nature when there are people dying a lot around me (tipically at Jormag)
- 10 points into Marksmanship i can get Steady Focus, which gives 10% bonus damage when my endurance is full – seems to work well with s/d since i have a few evasion skills built in so i don’t need to dodge as much
- 25 points in Wilderness Survival there is Peak Strength as a minor, which gives another 10% bonus damage while health is above 90%
- 25 points into Nature Magic there is Bountiful Hunter which gives another measly 5% bonus damage for me and my pet if i have a boon. That adds a bit damage to Stone Spirit’s protection which triggers quite often.
- Another 10% bonus damage comes from Frost Spirit with 70% chance as mentioned above.
I use Carrion set because i guess conditions are still my main damage source, but i wanted some power too (I’m not sure – do the x% damage bonuses apply to direct hits, or to conditions too?)
I was thinking that spirits act a bit like banners for warriors, so maybe they shouldn’t take any damage – just like banners. Then again, they CAN move along with you (although 30 points in Nature Magic feels a bit too much just for that) and they CAN apply AoE effects/damage (though i find it a hard to place these skills right where i want to). On the other hand, banners can be picked up, giving you a whole different set of skills….
Well, that’s it, i’m really not that experienced yet, just trying… please share your thoughts!
Someone using a viable spirit build for pvp?
Share plz!
I highly doubt anyone is using a viable spirit build for more than just getting themselves killed in hotjoins.
Spirits dont live long enough to be viable. Movement trait not worth the investment or the loss of better traits.
Spirits should be either damage immune and on autofollow without investment, or they should be removed and just give rangers auras.
