Ive been running spirit ranger for a while now and when I join a spvp match the other team bashes me and either quits or calls me a bad player for using spirits, while the players in my team looks like they just had their first orgasm. Way too many people are complaining about spirit ranger its gonna be BM bunker incident all over again, nerf is ineviteble. Prepare

Unrelated to spirit ranger balance those scores ain’t unusual if you’re just playing to score points and the opposing team is bad enough to feed kills off points (skirmish kills), luckily it seems they had one person capping for them.

As much as people complain about them, I really don’t see anyone saying just what it is that makes them overpowered. They’re still a pet with 8k hp that require 30 pts in a tree before they’re even remotely useful.

In fact, it’s probably the 30pt trait that makes them overpowered because if they couldn’t move, Rangers would drop them on the point when they get there and if they were killed timely, they’d still be on cooldown and couldn’t be resummoned.

If they wanted to nerf them, that is probably the most reasonable way to approach it. Cut their cooldown to 30 seconds. Change it so their cooldown wouldn’t activate until after the pet died. Remove the max duration of the pet. Change them so they moved without needing a 30pt trait.

Makes them useful for Ranger regardless of spec.
Removes the spamability of them.
They remain powerful as a slotted skill should be.

Then again this is ANet… and the Ranger class we’re dealing with.

Seems like we are the bottom of the food chain, Every thing needs to feed eh? Somebody’s gotta be the fall guy. On this ridiculous food chain.

I feel sorry for rangers, they always get nerfed because they’re good in sPvP but bad everywhere else because they balance around sPvP.

Meanwhile warriors are good everywhere else and bad in sPvP (or was bad cuz they’re now OP everywhere). But in order to make them good in sPvP it means to make them godlike in PvE and WvW. So they keep getting buffed to ridiculous levels.

Spirit Rangers get kitten d by my warr. Good luck running them in anything other venue outside spvp.

Funny thing is, they will nerf spirits but not fix the targeting system that would make fighting Spirit Rangers easier and improve the use of our pet’s F2 skills.

I dont PvP, and Iv never seen a spirit ranger in PvE or WvW, someone care to explain how they are OP. Just by looking at them and their traits I cant see what the fuss is about.

What.. are you saying the team that was composed of rangers (and lost) but concentrating on killing people for points, is overpowered…? Where is your logic taking us here…?

Spirits are useful in any way, shape or form? Haha, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Well, to be fair, they are useful if all you intend to do with yourself is autoattack and strafe around. Just not as useful as anyone else’s support items, like banners.

I keep trying to force myself into playing my Ranger to get more World vs World Ranks, but it gets so bloody boring….

I could role something else myself…But good lord… It’ll be the same thing…

I’ll either being doing extreme overpowered Burst damage on someone’s face, Or I’ll be forced into a Bunker build and using Conditions….There is virtually zero difference in those two meta’s across all classes, Some Classes just get to do the options better then others based on Buffs and Nerfs. Right now Warriors on the top end thanks to all the incredible buffs they’ve received (Which I’ve brought this up before, and it cracks me up everytime, If you go back and watch the old State of the Game, the Devs said “We don’t wanna give to much to Necromancers and Warriors, because they’d be so easy to make over the top and incredibly powerful” and then a patch or two later, THEY DO EXACTLY THAT)

Well we all by now know that anet devs hardly give a kitten about Pve / WvW balance, all they care about is s/tpvp and ESPORTSSSSSSS. When it comes to balance spvp gets the most attention because the quality of pve balance is kittens

Actually mesmers can use a super OP build in the meta right now that punishes everyone stupid enough to skill spam, aka perform the current meta. Retal and confusion and torment oh my!!

That being said my condi Mesmer is just more fun to play than condi ranger and I feel it has more teeth and kitten ning by gear differences… And then all my fancy artificer potion recipes can be made using him =D

I’ve also had sky rocket scores on my elementalist, where we ran in a large group and took down enemies one by one since they attacked us 1 vs 5 every time.
Your screenshot doesn’t prove that rangers are overpowered.. if anything, it just proves that pug teams are bad at assisting each other.

There are worse things than spirit rangers out there… like thieves perma backstabbing for 5k while remaining invisible due to ‘Cloak and Dagger’ having no cooldown… Or bunker warriors with 1k regen per sec with a 7 second CD stun/100b combo.

This is the stupidest thing ever… all over again just like the pet nerf.
I was just finally finding a use for these things in PvE… Not very universal use, but atleast it got me on par for NPC escorts with my horrible blood Necro with the Well Siphon build. (who is just a Shadow of her Gw1 counterparts by the way)

Dev’s said on stream other day spirit ranger build wasn’t getting a nerf. I can’t confirm it 100% but it’s what my team mate was telling me.
