I’m working with a spirit build (just because), but I’m noticing that things don’t seem to proc nearly as much as they should. My uptime on the Protection buff from Spirit of Stone doesn’t seem long enough, the frequency of healing from Water Spirit doesn’t happen often enough, etc.
Is anyone aware of some kind of internal cooldown or limiter on spirit hit-triggers?
Is it limited by skill use? If not, I should be getting roughly 20 seconds of protection from Rapid Fire. I’m lucky to get 4.
Is it one proc per effect charge? With a 10 second effect charge, that’s not very useful.
Any experts out there than can explain this better?
Every spirit except frost, has a 10 sec recharge meaning you can get the buffs only once every 10 secs.

Spirit Builds are much better in PvP than PvE/Open World. In dungeons the only useful one (and the one that should be glued to your skillbar) is Frost Spirit- but you can’t enable the moving spirit buff because then they stick to you and die to AoE. Open World I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re map completing with a group of 5. Even then, it’s just okay.
In sPvP I usually play Spirit because I enjoy it, and they can be useful in WvW as well. They really shine on a team in PvP because you’re compounding the effects.
Shortbow and Sword are the preferred weapons for spirit builds because you get more procs.

A 6/2/0/6/0 build focused on bleed and burning duration can help you pump out a lot more condition damage but leaves you extremely vulnerable to conditions in the meantime.
