Spirit of Nature +Healing Power?
It does not. The amount it heals on the toolbar isn’t even right either. You’d figure they could fix that by now.
Menorah | Charr Cat | Some Cat Thing
Still running my old RRR build because why not
Spirit of Nature, like your pets, has its own healing power, so your healing power do not count. I use support build and spirit of nature is a very good healing skill. I love its activated ability (when it works) , but if you want keep your party alive, your options: regeneration boon, healing spring, spirit of stone, fern mastiff and moa.
Ranger need healing power for: regeneration, signet of the wild, healing spring, runes+sigils, beast master traits 25 and Natural Healing.
I dont think is a good idea to invest in healing power, rangers are very short in the support department talking of healing, you get healing spring.. a signet wich doesnt help the party..maybe the shouts but you have to invest 30 in other traitline wich is not healing power..and thats it…
You’d be better off using the spirit to res downed allies more than relying on it’s healing since it will usually die pretty kitten fast in a fight and it still has it’s 180 sec cooldown.

Thank you. I think your post may have enlightened me
I think you missed a few things though, namely Signet of Renewal, healing sigils such as sigil of life, sigil of renewal, AND “Search and Rescue!” (one that i really like). I really left no stone left unturned as for a ranger healer build for WvW. Everything about my character is for support, except the gear which is mostly PVT
Edit: Rune of the Water also gives nearby allies a heal that scales with your healing power…

Lol, forgot about the fact that this tooltip has been wrong since launch.
However, in more seriousness, Spirit of Nature is a really strong spirit. 480hp/sec health regeneration while active in addition to on demand cd removal and revives. If it currently scaled with healing power, then they would probably have to drop it’s base heal down to 200 or something and then have it scale back up because it’s already extremely strong as it is.

I struggle with the spirit’s revival ability. Can anyone explain exactly how it is supposed to work? Is it on some very short radius? And how do you make the long animation work for your team when under pressure (e.g. wvw or spvp)?
The passive is great. CD helps but the revive just isn’t working for me well.
I’ve been running a heal ranger for a long time and have found it most useful in higher level PvE content like 40+ fractals and Arah. In WvW it is much more difficult to get your heals and spirit rezes where they are needed and I find it’s better to go more all around support and less heal. My heal gear was all Magi, and I used a Sigil of Water, so I actually got more heals with Rampage as One because fury would help proc the sigils AoE heal (which by the way IS affected by your healing power). I’m currently transitioning to a more all around support build, but still with a focus in healing.
Here’s my old build

Weapons: Warhorn for the 5 skill to blast finish in healing spring for an aoe heal
Sword or axe doesn’t really matter, I think sword hits more so triggers sigil of water more.
Longbow just cause the mystic longbow matches my armor so well =P
Utilities: Pretty obvious when you look at my traits, Sick Em = dps and regen/swiftness
Search and Rescue = rez and regen/switness
Signet of Wild combined with all the regen out heals most dmg.
Elite: I swap between Spirit of Nature and Rampage as One. RaO most of the time, Spirit on PvE Bosses where my team might need more heals or a big rez.
Traits: 15 in skirmshing for fury to proc sigil of water. Companions Might synergises well since I crit pretty often
30 in Nature Magice for Natures voice. This takes advantage of my healing power by basically giving a 5k aoe heal every time i use “Sic ’Em” or “Search and Rescue”.
(I’ll also swap “Search and Rescue” for “Guard” to rush yaks in wvw)
Strength of Spirit just cause Magi gear gives me so much vitality. It’s only a 100 to strength so it’s not that important.
Natures Bounty is a pretty straight forward increase to my heals.
25 in beast mastery to increase my healing power and get that 5% conversion (again only 100 to power but what else am I gona put 5 points in.)
Mighty swap is meh, not a lot of good options here.
Speed Training helps keep my drakes tail swipe blast finisher up. (I often put down healing spring and then swap pets – drakes will usually use tail swipe right away and do an aoe heal in the spring)
Gear: The original concept that led me to this build was to be tanky with Healing Power, Vitality and Signet of the Wild while using with Strength of Spirit and Natures Wrath to make up for power so Magi was the logical choice, plus it has precision as a secondary attribute so more crit chance = more sigil of water proccing. The Strength of Spirit and Natures Wrath thing still results in flimsy damage even with a decent crit rate, but the pet traits kinda fill the gap as long as I swap pets often and follow up a pet swap with a weapon swap to give them fury via Furious Grip and Fortifying Bond.
Runes of Exuberance add to the above traits so that’s that. I think I used Runes of Dwayna before Exuberance came out.
Sigil of Water – Duh. Sigil of Perception – Duh. Sigil of Renewal just cause another sigil of water seemed boringly redundant =P
I hope this helps you. In case you can’t tell my ranger is my main character and support is my favorite role. PM me if you’re interested in the new build I’m working on.
How much is your sigil of water healing for with high heal power? Must admit I tried this one last well before moving to a support build.
My experience has been that it really doesn’t add much as I won’t have high crit even with fury and it’s heal always seemed to be very lackluster.

Someone tell me something? why is healing spring not considered as a trap. it was a trap spell in GW 1. Making HS a trap would definitively valorise the trapper build more.
BM: I want to present you my lovely jingle bear mia
If pet had voices: Mommy, I did it! :3

Why isn’t Rampage as one a shout? Because that might make the ranger good.
Back on topic, does Compassion training affect the Spirit?
