Hello there,

I’m wondering what the chances for a spirit ranger are atm for bunking the close point.
I know that before the patch it was quite awesome because of the double even triple(if you were lucky) resurection. And altho you were quite bunky, the chances of killing someone were quite big because of all the conditions stacking.

I used to run it with runes of the forge and carrions amulet, short bow and sword/dagger.
as utility’s the healing spring, stone, sun and elite spirit and then the signet of the hunt to get some mobility as you could move between the mid and close point.

So what are the chances right now for it?
If there are any better suggestions to bunker up the close point, let me know

Just keep in mind that mobility is something very important to me, because I don’t like to sit on the close point during the whole match as you would become useless if they just ignore it.

the build is still a good home defender. try using settler amulet instead of carrion or rabid and use rune of the undead for extra tankiness. good mobility is nice but sacrificing one spirit means you will miss one spirit to block damage for you. you can use lb instead of axe to use stealth. that will confuse your enemy and attack your spirit instead while you are flanking him with bleeds.

i use this kind of set up, 10 0 30 30 0. now thats a really tanky spirit build and pair that with settler you will have good heal too.

btw, as a spirit ranger you should always ask your teammates if the guardian can take the role of a home defender instead because you have more use in a team fight with your rez spirit.

I never really used/mentioned axe but anyways,
the settlers is a good option indeed, altho I feel like lacking damage at that point.

A good close point holder for me is one that can actually kill people and keep it a kittenallenging while still having enough survivability.

For the missing spirit, the storm spirit’s role isn’t that great, I’m sure that that one can be taken out

Just my opinion tho.

Spirit rangers are better for teamfights and not really that great as they were for defending home point.
This build you will still have good dps with conditions. Mostly just stay on the outskirts of the fights to get your flanking shots in and to help keep your spirits avoid a sooner departure( if you know your spirits are going to die soon and your safe to do so you can jump in and let them die to pop their actives from “Natures vengeance)”.
The other sigil on the shortbow is Agony.

Things you can switch around to whatever you prefer are
1. Shared Anguish/Off-hand training can be swapped if you prefer something else
2. You can go 20 into nature magic but i like having Nature’s vengeance it can come in handy.
3. You can swap out torch for horn or dagger
4. Pets are up to you but i prefer spider+wolf for their cc chain for locking someone down
5. You can throw storm spirit out but the mobility it gives is nice to help you and your team position themselves better(Easier for you to kite and get those flanking shots in). Also the active is still effective on glassy builds.

you should never lose to a guardian when challenged 1v1. spirit ranger is so strong, you could easily 1v2 against 2 hambows and still kill 1 of them before you get downed or if you have the res spirit up, you can kill them both. i’m just saying. lol
