They give worse boons than untraited support skills of other classes, and just one at a time.
They don’t follow around unless traited.
They have a random chance not to even work.
On top of that, they die instantly.

As of now, spirits are useless, completely and utterly.

If you fully spec into them and stac +boon/healing/toughness gear they seem ok in spvp, but a little underwhelming.

Note, I do agree they need a boost and am not disagreeing with you at all, except I would say they are useless unless you fully spec into them and mould your whole toon into a support/heal bot and then they are just average at best and like you say other classes probably play a similar role better.

Elite spirit is the bomb though.

So to make a spirit worth it (and we have a few) we have to fully spec for them? 30 points…and they’re still underwhelming? Yea that’s not gonna fly for me.

I’ve seen early beta footage of Spirit builds, and it seemed like a very fun spec to play. I wanted to try this in dungeons and WvW with guildies, but then learned about said nerf.

I dont know why they didnt do spirits for rangers like spirit weapons for guardians. I havent touched spirits skills yet cuz of the lack of it in terms of skill usage and traits. If it messes with your design ANet, make them as if they are fairies. that still sticks to nature-loving schema of the ranger
