When I PvP in the water I feel like a kraken… when I fight on land I try to forget what the DPS is like on every other class. This last patch hurt my ranger more than any other class I play. My ranger brings the least utility/DPS balance to the table (warrior does more DPS, guardian does better utility, even ele does better utility – both while doing good DPS) whereas my ranger had a couple neat tricks (quickness res on pet swap was one of them) that made it rewarding while doing reliable consistent DPS (I had pet swap quickness and Quickening Zephyr rotating to supplement the sub-par DPS).
With this recent nerf to the class, my dps is much lower and my support skills are still garbage. My pet got worse (wolf howls are on long cooldowns all the time without the swap refresher) and they didn’t fix any of it’s problems to compensate (I still die while my pet refuses to res me). In addition to the great DPS they can do, my warrior and guardian have a bunch of useful shouts, my ele has tonnes of interesting support and control effects on the staff and I can even bring the already good buffed banners. I didn’t bring Frenzy on my warrior, he had too many already awesome skills to bring, so this quickness nerf doesn’t really hit him, I wish I could say the same for the ranger.

Ya the fish is moderately appropriate too. Last night I was underwater with like four people pounding on me. Did I escape? Heck yeah! You can’t down a ranger underwater, son!

Haha, that’s hilarious. I honestly don’t get why this forum likes to go down the whol e"OMG reroll Warrior" path so often. Warriors have a lot of weaknesses in PvP.
Now, Mesmer, Ele, even Guard for just being all-around viable I could see…

I don’t know how you’re playing a ranger but you’re obviously not playing it right. I mean if you try to stand toe to toe with a warrior, yeah you’re going to get owned. For a warrior to do significant more DPS than a ranger they have to be full zerk build. And if they are, 4 to 5 seconds of kiting and they’re dead and they won’t even lay a finger on you; if you can kite worth a kitten that is. A zerk warrior is just as squishy as a ranger with an extra 3-4k health. Rangers crap on warriors hands down, you just have to know how to play and not just stand there and let them go to town on you.

Albeit, this is the TRAPPER ranger build .
They only specify the TRAPPER build because it’s the only widely used ranger build, we have several builds that can go toe to toe with the trapper builds and take them our pretty easily, and we can bunker like an absolute beast (IE never really die, i’ve taken 3 people on and with all my evades was able to last out until my allies showed up), but yeah rangers are in a REALLY good spot in sPvP/tPvP

Dungeon elitist think the world starts and ends with zerker warriors. Why I refer no warrior runs! Life has been so much better since I stopped associating with warriors.

No, it wasn’t. It was directed to everyone that cries about rangers because they’re not getting what they want. Which is a completely over-powered class that can trash everyone else without them having to do anything skill-wise.
If you guys want a good laugh, go read the thief forums. They feel that ANet is trying to destroy the thief class, and that they’re bottom tier in dungeons.
