Stop playing your ranger until they make good on their promises.

Ive only ever played a ranger in every game Ive ever played. I love the idea of the ranger, the way they have been written about, what they stand for…I have just made a thief. I will level him up, go perma stealth, and kill rangers until every ranger is complaining loud enough that they will have to make some positive changes. I love my Ranger, i hope to be playing him again someday soon.

You obviously don’t love your ranger, if you’re abandoning it just because there’s a more overpowered class.

I think Centhis has a reason to be mad. The Ranger Updates was “great” -_-

Im not abandoning my class. I would love to be able to play him again soon. There are nights that I have a great time. But there are too many nights that wherever I go, Im just hounded by thieves all night. Thats not fun for me. Im here to have fun and until they give Rangers some much needed love, I log off way to many nights frustrated. I wouldnt even mind dying over and over again if it was fun fights. but my roomate next to me plays his mesmer, his ele, his necro, and he has so many cool things he can do. I wana use my longbow, then maybe switch to my greatsword when I have to fight in close quarters..As Im waiting for my timers on my bow to come back, I see my bud zipping around the battlefield or invisoing while creating multiple clones or going mist form with a entire new set of skills to use..it looks fun…and when he dies to a thief, at least he fought them to the death. Id love one time to be backstabbed only to have my pet knock him down to give me time to distance myself, or maybe Id love the ability to track a stealthed thief, maybe pick up his tracks or have my hound pick up his scent..wouldnt that be cool…“your hound detects an enemy nearby” At least I could try to defend myself. No Stormleaf, Im not abandoning my class, Im protesting.

I quit playing about 2 weeks ago. Thought I would see how the patch went for my ranger. I think I made a good call on this and won’t be back any time soon. Anet is killing their own game off.

I quit playing my ranger the day I rolled a guardian. I feel much more useful, and am actually able to carry groups through some tough dungeon encounters.

I tried to go back to the ranger, I even tried out a new build. Bought new gear and everything. I still feel useless.

Have played ranger ever since launch. I heard that in BWEs spirit/greatsword build was beastly, but I didn’t play a ranger then, so I wouldn’t know. I would say the state of rangers suck ever since launch and haven’t change much. I didn’t give up maining ranger 6 months ago, why would I do it now?

I have often joked that I would quit my ranger and play my other geared professions, but I’ve invested so much into him before becoming aware of these mounting problems.

To me, the ranger class is like a red-headed step child. I’ve raised him as my own and dismissing him would be throwing away X amount of gold and time.

I’d advise this, honestly. It’s pure frustration witnessing what your Ranger isn’t able to do after playing a class that can so effortlessly perform in combat, like Thief. And for a while I was purely dedicated to bringing out the best in Ranger.

As for not being geared… it’s not difficult to overcome. I buy-ordered my alt’s set of exotics over time, slowly building it up. It stings a little to know I have something like 3 different exotic sets of armor on my Ranger (and ALL those weapons), collecting dust, but I suppose that says something about the class when I had to try so many different things and I’m still using just one set of weapons and armor on my Thief. Tweaking, what for? Prepackaged awesome. Class’s made me lazy.

The people who quit their Rangers love them too, we just can’t handle being so vastly inferior and ignored. I don’t know how much data they collect from player trends, but maybe they’ll see that more and more Rangers are getting the shelf, and do something about it.

But hey, he’ll always be my RP character, so at least dear Phaynel will never be out a job. And if any asura out there are looking for the best ear-massages this side of EVER… well my username’s attached to this post <3
