After some research , I found that Salamander Drake and Lashhtail Devourer got the strongest skills in gw 2.
The Drake has a bad skill which is chomp that heals his enemies , but it also has great advantage which is AOE attacks. His Fire Breath misses often because of its casting.
The Devourer hits only one enemy and it’s rare to miss.
F2 skill damage according to wiki :
Fire Breath damage is > 5*(305) + (1640 ) = 3165
Rending Barbs damage is > 7*(343) + 7*(213) = 3892
First , are my calculations right ?
Second , I know that the breath hits in front of the caster while the barbs just hits one enemy, but the barbs has higher hitting chance. What are your opinions about both of them ?

what about jaguar skills? i pull 6k crits off with it(and you can make that an auto crit)
beyond the riverdrake and the lightning, i have never seen larger crits than 6k from any pet skill. the next closest is the canine pets
Jaguars improved crit in stealth puts both to shame, even now after it seems the Jags are nerfed/bugged, I never liked the drakes but do use the devourer regularly he’s even better in water although then his F2 is a double stun but he does alot more damage anyway cause he attacks much faster with his normal attacks.
Actually since I got into water pets I would say the shark F2 is a contestant for best pure total damage aswell quickness and guaranteed bleed on each hit what’s nto to love about that?
I know that shark is the strongest water pet , I’m talking about the strongest terrestrial pet.
The bad thing about drakes that they heal their enemies !

If you activate signet of the wild it’s damage is also increased. I’ve clocked over 20k damage with a fire drake doing it, though losing the regen is a hell of a penalty.
The drakes F2 skills are bad, because you need to either use quickness or snare skills, for them to hit reliably. A 2.75 second channel time is an eternity in this game. The Jaguar is the strongest single target pet because its F2 skill both gives stealth, which prevents your opponent from avoiding its attacks, and improved precision, for better damage.

Yea, not channeled
If you watch it, It hits like 5 times I think for 500+ a pop
While a channeled attack would show like 500 a pop but show up as 2500 at the end.
It can of course crit as well…
The River Drake would be just as good if it had 900 range (its 600)….but yea try it out..

Your just going to have to take my word for it, but against 3 targets I was able to deal 6165 direct + 3780 poison = 9945 damage versus the 11k+ from both salamander and river drakes. In PvP (any form) most players won’t let you get a 15s poisons to last full duration on them or they will die before it ends so expect real world results to be much lower. However, it is the easiest to land while still bouncing between targets.
And to those of you talking about other pets (jaguar) I think the op was asking/telling about what F2 abilities were the strongest in terms of reflected damage. Technically, jaguar F2 does 0 damage.

Well, against a fast attacking enemy or a zerg in WvW will be The Reef Drake and his damage equal to the salamander, and then confusion can hit harder than salamander.
Otherwise it’d be salamander, -because- he deals ~3.5k damage and then ~3.3k damage from the burning without any traits buffing it, and this is on a heavy dummy.
The marsh drake only did ~570 dmg per hit, and then the lightning did ~960 per hit, which would create the pretty little illusion that the lightning drake does the most damage due to the fact he has the biggest number at the beginning, where as the salamander drake deals a good 50% of his damage over the next 6 seconds via burning.

There’s a line between burst dps and sustained dps.
In the realm of sustained dps, felines would leave drakes in the dust in terms of sustained single target dps.
Felines crit 2 out of 3 hits. Their skill chain has minimal delay. Birds have similar stats but because of their swiftness buff which has a long cast animation, their dps goes down significantly compared to a feline.
If you’re curious enough, just go to the mists, the whole pet selection is open to you. Over here, people are just pushing their ‘favourite’ pets.
