Three years building a character with fully ascended gear. All the Real money spent on gems because I loved the Ranger so much.Three years trying and experimenting with a vast quantity of builds for maximum damage and survival.Three years putting up with the constant ranger hate from guilds and parties.
Three years only to have my main character neutered , Railroading it into a full support druid. Handed builds by guilds where the only thing I can do is wipe other peoples back sides healing ,buffing,and clearing conditions. OH-BOY!!
No benefits in running a full support druid because drops are based on the kills of opponents.Normally with my ranger I would have to empty inventory of 100 slots 2,3 even 4 times a night during WvW raids.Not anymore!! WvW experience drops off to just the captures.
Apparently I’m supposed to have fun with that?
Such a waste of a class.

I really like the role of buffing and healing. I don’t need to do damage myself to enjoy playing. But I have to agree with you on one thing: Buffing and healing instead of dealing direct damage is a major setback on loot.
My guild is too small and casual to run raids anytime soon (if at all), so I like to bring my support druid to the open world content. Yesterday I was running with a train in Cursed Shore. I know, on such runs a Healer is not needed, but it can make it more enjoyable for those that focus on damage. The price however is, as surely many of you know, that you miss out on loot quiet a lot. I get more silver and bronze on events than gold, and I miss a lot of loot from trash mobs. So in the end, I have to decide, whether I prefer playing a support-heal-buff-dudu (which I like a lot) or getting decent loot (which I also like a lot).

Actually I find the SC Druid that was posted on reddit to be a fun mix of damage and healing. If you think being a druid means always staying in staff with healing gear then you are not thinking out of the box.

The post says for raids but I use it for fractals and occasional pvp.

um..no..condi druid probably has better condi dps than anything other than a necro on moving targets. condi engi and warrior are better on moving targets. core ranger can still take frost spirit for a dps boost and if you really want to you can slot druid and use the glyph without ever healing or going into CAF. sure it would be a dps loss for yourself but you can still buff the team.

stop acting like you MUST take druid, no one said you have to. Ever. if you get kicked for playing ranger find new friends.

Been doing it all wrong for 3 years then if you thought ranger was a loot "uu"horing machine.
Since you are rerolling try staff guardian. If that’s not enough loot then try silverwastes.

So lets analyse this.
*Targets RARELY stand still, so Necro, Engi and Warrior are better at Condi DPS than Condi Druid/Ranger.
*A Condi Druid/Ranger can’t sacrifice utility skills for spirits/glyphs as they need those for the condi build if they want to maximize their Condi DPS.

so i ask you why would I pick a ranger when i can use a warrior, necro or engi who all 3 can do a better job?

so yes if you go ranger, you are expected to be healing support or get kicked. Ive been kicked for being a ranger, i’ve seen LFGs “LFM no rangers plz” , have had parties tell me, “if the ranger stays I go” and parties get disbanded.

as to get new friends? these arn’t my friends, these are pugs. this is when there is only 1-2 people online in the guild. and to play devil’s advocate, if classes would be properly balanced and fun to play we would never have to see “LFM no rangers” EVER in an LFG tool.

WvW used to be lucrative enough to support the siege and foods necessary against a determined foe.

What we have now is a joke.

I will be a Druid regardless of how little you allow us to gain any loot for our healing, mitigation, boon stacking and reviving/rezzing.

Anet stated that no changes will be looked at for “balance” for at least 8 weeks.

Don’t let this and the other issues we know exist for Druid die like they have so many times for a straight Ranger.

Yeah we sharing our concerns about the healing thing and the lack of damage = no rewards.

So yeah: it’s pretty impossible to get rewards in WvW or even in PvE if there is too many people around. Or just one herald or tempest.

If guilds/groups are forcing you into full support then they are really misguided, especially in WvW. Hybrid power/full damage druid is an excellent choice in that game mode.
