With Soulbeast in mind, all of the pet swap traits should be re-looked at honestly.
If they make swapping pets in Beastmode possible and work with pet swap traits than I think Poison master is going to be nice, kif not, then it is just it’s passive effect which honestly though, is quite powerful.

Yeah, Poison Master is not masterful at all. Take a look at Potent Poison on Thief for a good example of a GM poison trait.
Increased poison duration. Poison deals increased damage. Other Deadly Arts traits apply additional poison stacks.
Damage Increase: 33%
Duration Increase: 33%
Additional Poison Stacks: 1
I think if you remove the ICD and make the duration 2s, then it may be on par with PP.
It would then make Sword a better hybrid weapon, Trapper’s Expertise gets some nice synergy, OH Dagger and SB become better, Barrage and Muddy Terrain are awesome, although MT is competing for WK, I’d be running Superior Sigil of Incapacitation on my SB for sure.

I threw the ICD in there just out of precaution.
But yeah your suggestion with the short duration is better i assume.

I like this idea and we need more traits to apply conditions so we may have access to a decent condition build for PvP not dependent of the weapon.

Also, they should fuse Refined Toxins and Poison Master. It’s against Ambidexterity in Master and Wilderness Knowledge in GM. Very hard to go against them when both traits are underpowered.

Do you mean the active part? The actual effect if refined toxins is decent atm and can compeed with ambidexterity. But adding additional poison stacks after pet swap would not hurt.

I feel like the ‘On swapping pet, pet attack applies poison’ should move to Refined toxins (+ its current effect)
Poison Master needs some different mechanics and/or effects
- Vuln on Poison?
- Reduce boon durations on target by X%?
- Convert a boon to a condition on target (on X seconds ICD)?
- Apply poison when applying a damaging condition (on X seconds ICD)?
Or maybe as it is in the Grandmaster line of WS which is related to condition management,
- Transfer a condition to your foe when you apply poison (on X seconds ICD) ?
Thematically, I guess reducing the effectiveness of poison on yourself would also be interesting -
- Reduce both poison damage on self and reduce healing lmpediment from 33% to 15% – think of Mithridatism
Refined Toxins becomes Toxic Relationship (haha) – After swapping pets, your pet’s first attack will inflict 2 stacks of poison for 8s; While your pet’s health is above 75% health, its strikes inflict poison, 5s CD, 6s duration.
Poison Master – While you are above 75% health, your strikes inflict poison for 6s, 5s cd. Whenever you apply cripple, you inflict poison for 2s; Your poison damage is increased by 20%.
What about with the damage increase and the poison to crippled foes we also add a trigger for when the foe has stacks of poison?
For example: when hit a foe with poison a condition from the ranger is transferred (icd 1 sec) .
We are sacrificing the only source of cleases (WK) for posion master, it should allow us to cleanse somehow otherwise it simply can’t compete with WK. Also this trait would be punishing only againts condi builds as against power builds wouldn’t notice any dps increase. And even then only if we can keep our poison application.

I kinda wanted PM to also have a boon corrupt in it.
Poison Master: Poison you apply deals +25% more damage. When you or your Pet cripples a foe, poison them. Corrupt X boon(s) when you poison a foe with poison that matches or exceeds the threshold. (A single foe cannot be affected more than once within the interval.)
