[Suggestion] Allow pets to rally?
Downed bear throwing rocks?
The pet is a part of the ranger one should treat it like it is. Don’t send your pet into the middle of a zerg unless you provide it with the support to stay alive.
Pets rallying on kill would trivialize pet death. Taking the focus off of keeping the pet alive. People have a hard time understand their pets as it is, they don’t need to have less focus on them but more.
everyone should fear becoming mentally clouded and obsessed with one small section of truth.

While I agree with your premise that you should do everything you can to stop pets from dying in the first place, this is actually a pretty solid suggestion that would help rangers deal with the problems we face in zerg vs zerg combat. If pets could rally off enemy death like players do they wouldn’t spend 90% of the fight dead just for existing on the front lines.
Meanwhile this wouldn’t really effect small scale roaming or SPVP since the pet of a decent ranger generally won’t die to begin with. Additionally it isn’t like you can just rally on command. If your pet goes down in a team fight it won’t get back up until and if your team secures a kill, which will be a fair bit harder if your pet is down in the first place since the ranger is so dependent on the pet to be effective.
keeping the pet alive
I agree, it’s a requirement to be a decent ranger, but then again, pet commands are delayed, it cannot dodge, and most pvp pets have 15k hp. With that said, if you FOR EXAMPLE, try to res a fallen teammate from being stomped by utilizing wolf’s howl, it has a very high chance of getting cleaved in seconds, before even executing the command. Thing is, you don’t have a choice of reviving pet anymore, so either get out of combat (wich is ridiculous in spvp) or switch to your next pet (F2 of wich you may not even need at the moment) and receive a 1m cooldown. I think I could make more examples, but there’s always people that claim “pets are flawless, l2p,” so I won’t be trying to prove anything.
P.S. Funny thing is, that when we are downed, the PET can actually revive us, but not vice-versa, no.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind the pet limping around be considered the “Downed” state. Disable F2 and let the thing be able to only auto-attack once every 5 seconds or so, give it a chance to rally if it or we, the Ranger, kills a target.
Once dead, I prefer that they keel over and stay put. Would not want to be able to res the pet while downed, though. I could see that being an annoyance when trying to revive a teammate and they are blocked by a limping pet.
Maybe have the downed health be half of its usual health pool and let it bleed out at the same rate as players. Tack on the 60 second pet swap penalty for swapping out a downed pet, too, so Rangers don’t get comfortable letting their pets bite the dust to begin with.
Will update once Path of Fire releases.
