Please ANet, when I’m doing dungeons I have to hit the button to avoid combat, wait for the boss to get in melee range of our group, then hit the button again for combat. This is one of the biggest things that makes the pets finicky and hard to use, if avoid combat was a hotkey life would be so much simpler in situations where agro has to be managed.

Anet likely didn’t want to remove the armor stats entirely because…well,
we’ve all seen what happens in games where there’s no disadvantage to taking your pants off.
