Hi number 6 doesn’t seem to work in WvW and it only removes a condition from me and not my allies . Also radius is not the problem since I’m using Resounding Timbre trait and applying regeneration and swiftness on allies is no issue .

(6): Shouts remove a condition from each affected ally.

Not even after changing some of the shouts to affect allies.

Number 6 is a heal – so in case you are talking about We Heal as One – it’s working as intended.

Only shouts that are supposed to cleanse your allies in addition to you and your pet are S&R, Protect Me and Guard.

WHaO,SotP,Sick’Em – these are not a subject for AoE cleanse.
Additionally – Sick’Em has no reason why it should cleanse the Ranger, either.

This is something I and a few other rangers have brought up time and time again repeatedly. Especially those of us that used shouts even before the rework. Unfortunately. No one, not even the rest of the ranger community, gave a kitten because it just didn’t matter since shouts weren’t used by most people. It didn’t get much publicity and probably remained a minor issue that was difficult to fix as far as anet is concerned.

(Ranger shouts don’t interact with other players at all. Our trait does. But the shout itself only “strikes” us and our pets meaning that only those two targets are effected by the runes. Ironically this means that the shout is working PERFECTLY as far as it is designed. But since our shouts only effect these 2 targets. Only these 2 targets can be cleansed. Even Guard and Search and rescue probably only “strike” ourselves and the pet. Then that “strike” produces secondary affects on other players that don’t count as “strikes” from the shout itself. Atleast that is my understanding just from watching the shouts in action for literally years)

Since none of the ranger community bothered to care or even comment before when it was something only 1 out of maybe hundreds of rangers had to deal with. All I can do at this point is sit back and laugh at everyones frustration as they notice this issue for the first time. It’s petty I know. But in the end since I don’t think it will get fixed until some dev somewhere takes a personal interest in it I might as well get some satisfaction from other people experiencing the frustration I dealt with back when no one cared about it.

Funny. Reaper shouts work with these runes. And they don’t affect ANY friendly targets whatsoever. So that kind of throws your idea out the window a bit. And yes their heal skill does too. So does there elite skill :O. The rune is supposed to proc on shout use. REGARDLESS of the shout. The only thing thats interfering is the base mechanics behind a rangers shouts. Which only affects 2 targets directly.

Edit: It is likely when reaper shouts were made they were made with the runes based on shouts in mind. Where as judging from how ranger shouts originally functioned they were a bit more haphazard in there making.

I think they should simply change the “Shouts remove a condition from each affected ally” to “Using a shout skill removes one condition on each ally in X radius” (this is actually what it does on most professions, except rangers for some strange reason).

Also, according to wiki notes: “The sixth bonus activates on any shout and applies to nearby allies, regardless of who is affected by the shout, e.g. “On My Mark!” triggers the condition removal for party members even though it targets a foe."

Conclusion: Current design isn’t consistent across professions.

Just to clarify. These runes do not condi clear from allies ONLY with Ranger shouts, period. It is not that ranger shouts don’t affect allies. Other classes have shouts that do not affect allies and those shouts still condi clear from their allies.

Aye, pretty much what I said. One would think that a shout in this game is classified as, you know, “a shout” in the game code, no matter the profession.

Perhaps shouts across professions are labeled as “shout” across all professions except for rangers, where they are labeled as “Shout” or “shouts” or whatever.

Anet really needs to step up their game on two major things – bug fixing and class balancing (yeah right, we’ve posting/crying/shouting about these things since release…)

I don’t really play Necros. I was merely using the terminology from runes and it logically lead me to that conclusion. If what you are saying is true (which I believe it is) then ANet are just as bad at this kind of their job as we always claimed them to be.

I can second the bolded part.

HoT pets (except Tiger – which is understandable for already being in the vanilla pet family) never had their auto-attacks classified as auto-attacks which lead them to ignore BM trait Companion’s Might.
There’s a lot of evidence for what you say to be true across their bug tracking.

They do need to fix their classes. Very quickly. While ANet has had the friendliest community in the whole gaming industry, they also have one of the most unsatisfied audience as well.
I understand that it’s difficult to drastically change classes according to balance now, when they designed the whole game around feelings (where no DPS meters existed and everyone could do everything) … But they had to expect this when they announced competitive environment.

^Can you also put Glyph of Rejuvenation not healing pet to the list as well too? I know the tooltip doesn’t specify pet, but it doesn’t seem right that your pet has to be in range and count as an ally to receive the secondary heal.

Anyway, when it is fixed, I suggest changing the description on the 6th bonus so there is less/no confusion since it also applies to Reaper shouts and not all Ranger shouts affect allies (without being traited) from:

(6): Shouts remove a condition from each affected ally.

To

(6): Shouts remove a condition from nearby allies. (600 radius)

I don’t mind their wording. Results are all that matters.
We don’t attend forums to save the world or to become better people. We come here to discuss, share and learn.

Nobody’s perfect at their job. Give them some breathing to fix their former faults. That way the company can grow.

No target required to activate the shout and apply the buff to the pet. When a target is selected during activation the reveal is applied like the vulnerability for “On My Mark!”
