Q:

Is it intended that the player can use the chain to double leap AWAY from foe? As long as you do not have a target, you can use the chain as a gap-maker.

Reading the tool tip it indicates the intent is to close the gap, players have figured out that it actually is of greater value when used to open gaps.

It’s probably gone the way of Feign Death pulling back in the EQ days. Just one of those freak anomalies that happened without them realizing it would. Players always find new and other ways to utilize abilities than the Devs had foreseen.

Do you use it more as a gap closer or gap maker? Or do you just turn on auto attack and go with the flow?

I use it as a maker and closer. I don’t see any problems with it.

My psychic knife. The focused totality of my psychic powers.

No problem at all, was just wondering if you think it that was the design intent to be able to use it as a closer and maker?

It’s been used that way (“gap maker”) because of the lack of other/better abilities to fill that role.

…well it’s specced to basically evade on 2 and 3… and has more leaps on 1.2, and 1.3…

use it how ever you wish, but i see the sword as a burst weapon (it’s burst is better than short bows, + might on pet). it’s also painfully easy to stick onto a target once you’ve hit them. more times then not i use this weapon defensively (2 offer an evade jump back wards, just simply move the camera in a complete 180 and deselect your opponent and you fly back)…but the weapon is finicky, i’ve only seen a few rangers who could master the sword so it’s not an every-man’s weapon.
