As a human I must say it looks very very odd. I loved the look before of the auto attack, I felt like a ninja and found it to be fun. Now just feels…..odd.

Your thoughts?

Not a huge fan. Male human and it looks, well, odd. Then again, I don’t run sword much anymore so I guess it isn’t a huge deal.

Although come to think of it I do run it in one of my sPvP builds

I hated the sword AA before. I may actually use it now that it’s changed. I don’t much care what the animation looks like. :/

Can’t comment on the human animation, but I find the animation on my Charr rather odd as well. I think its because the sword swings are way too high. Considering their hunched posture, its really odd seeing them swing the sword way up there instead of at a more natural height. And the little sword twirl on the 3rd strike is a bit silly.

I do certainly miss the acrobatics of the old animations as well, though. The new one feels so… stagnant. I guess we still have the other attacks for more movement though.

I thought the old sword animation was one of the best I have seen in 15+ years of MMOs.

And I find the new one is the worst. I have no clue what sort of spastic stabber they are trying to portray.

Animation downgrade for Asura Rangers in my opinion.

Can’t stand using sword on my charr ranger anymore, the animation is hideous.

Very uninspired animation. It isn’t as fun to watch as the old one.

I don’t see why they couldn’t keep the roundhouse kick animation if we can do twirls with the greatsword while moving.

Yeah, that animation is pretty bad compared to the old one. At least the kicking and everything was fun to watch. I can understand the mechanics change but y’know it did use to be my favorite wep animation.
It looks like my Sylvaris about to fall over when I use it compared to looking all agile and rangery.
