I believe! I’ve always had good results with your builds. I’ll jump into some PvP a little later on and get familiar with it.
See you in Tyria.
only thing I would question is why doom sigil on sword when it already has poison?
why not geomancy or energy?
would be great for courtyard

I played a few matches with it, and it seems decent.
I’ve been having problems finding the best rune/sigil setup. If I don’t take heaps of poison I can’t beat a Ele.
Reason for doom sword #3 loves missing its target.

just replace doom sigil for some teamfight viable version, you will not beat decent eles with this regaldless how many sources of poison you have.
Just focus on what it is good at: support / skirmish/ teamfight – ignore 1v1, these weapons wont let you allow a victory there often unless the dude stands on node facetanking.

The only 2 builds your going to have problem with in 1v1 is Shout Warrior and D/D Cele Ele.
Yes this build isn’t meant for 1v1, does well in 2v2 and up does really well. Hydro/Leeching combo on sword/horn was working really well when I needed to escape.
The build can be tricky, Fear Chain necro’s are bit of pain if you waste your LR on the wrong fear going to cost you badly, but most of the time you burn there Rune’s fear at range before they apply conditions and fear wall isn’t hard to see coming.
Something that I’ve started to notice but my pet’s are getting wrecked, I think that has allot to do with Ele’s and Engineers having so much AoE so while your in 2v2 your pet’s taking just as much damage as you while pulling your conditions. I’ve been training 1v1 vs d/d ele to see how well I can field build lasts fairly long time but my pets tends to die before I can swap and I’ve never really had that problem before I micro my pet allot but you have no control over its placement so allot of time its stupid and gets itself killed.

Doom is a good sigil on the sword swap. Sword 3 is clunky offensively, to say the least, and also, I doubt you would want to be using the sword 3 outside of a defensive utility, especially when running warhorn (and not dagger. not saying dagger is better at all, just different and bit more selfish with less total utility than warhorn).
I personally might be more inclined to go with Viper’s Nest over Spike Trap, but I’ll have to get more hands on with the build before I make that sort of preference decision. Still, it overall would solve the issue of not enough poison (though it has the potential to make flame trap less effective by not being able to stack a spike trap with it and guarantee as many pulses).
Question for Sol now that my input is out of the way; do you feel the build has enough condition removal? Not saying that EB is weak at all, it’s just that personally, with the current meta, I’ve found the EB compounds the damage the pet takes and with no personal removal outside of EB, you are constantly foddering your pet to spamgineers and celes (which may explain some of the pet survival issues). I wouldn’t know how to remedy it, I’m just curious if that’s what you’re experiencing.

I don’t have a whole lot of experience playing my Ranger in PvP, but roaming in WvW it’s a huge difference having gone from a Spider/Drake to now Dog/Dog both with EB. How important are the Fern Hound and Wolf to your build, and would you be able to swap them out for something with a bit more (or a lot more) vitality?
With a heartier pet you can get more poison (Spider, Marsh Drake, Murrelow) to keep the Ele’s sustain at bay, and the cleave on drake can take out turrets while still keeping pressure up. Also theoretically you can keep a spider out of harms way if you get lucky with positioning (and it doesn’t get LOSed).
Just some thoughts. Like I said I don’t have a lot of PvP experience on my Ranger.
@jcbroe.4329 Hey mate, yeah I’ve been testing so many different rune sets weapon sets trying to find a nice balance its really hard, EB is here to stay I’ve tried to find ways around it without damaging the builds backbone.
Idea I’m going to run for while is, replace Empathic Bond with Poison Master Air/Fire with Generosity/Purity and Hoelbrak Runes LR with Renewal Signet. With Drake/Drake combo Poison/Lightning.
That give’s me 3 conditions removed every 10 seconds 20% reduction to conditions and Healing Spring’s pulses which is highly effective. Downside is you lose fair chunk of damage from Air/Fire combo as it procs on traps as well which is very handy.
@Sagramor.7395 I’m currently testing out 2x Drake’s seen as I want to avoid them 1v1 and stick to 2v2 and Team fights I can get away with using the Drakes. I always use Spider/Wolf when I run LB glass build best option fear for self peels and spider for spike combo’s.

Hmmmm. I think that the next time I log in and mess around with it, I’ll still run Air/Fire, but on the sword/horn set I’ll run Doom/Generosity and swap LR to SoR. That’ll probably be JUST enough with good play to deal with most opponents condi-output.
I’ve been tending to run Drakehound/Wolf and on passive (I’ve run my pets on passive forever) for this meta, and then having to engage/disengage them over and over in order to control their position so they don’t just wade through all of the condi output, but I mean, I’m pretty sure I’m going to wear out my F1/F3 keys with how much I have to press them lol.
Edit: AND the Hoelbrak runes. I missed saying I’d swap to those as well.

Hey Sol, thanks for the build! I was looking for something like this. I think you should try fear wolf and river drake. Open with Wolf and swap to drake after you drop healing spring. He’ll open with blast finisher right next to you. He also has a unusual ability to land his attacks. Thanks again!
